UFO: Extraterrestrials Gold

Decent enough UFO/XCOM-like back in its day (modded/Gold edition), mostly superseded by Xenonauts nowadays if you're into old school X-Com (without all the streamlining of the Firaxis game). It can still well scratch that TB tactical itch!

WoW, I actually forgot to write a review? Well obviously this is a classic. Excelent music imho. And a unique gameplay in the genre. It is focusing on terrain exploitation and verticality more then any other similar game. Also it is A LOT more versatile in moment to moment gameplay with not just how much units you can deploy, but how much weapon and gear and combination there you can mix to go for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy moves and actions durring a tactical mission. Im talking about shoting your last bullet, taking down an alien, picking up the alien gun, kiling another one, get its grenade, throw it on the upper part of an UFO, so your guy can land a rocket in the middle from downtown. Also most stuff is flat value, instead of percentage. So you can have someones accuracy so high, he can literally just stand at landing and take out anyone in line of sight. Probably the only game in the genre where the grenadier is ACTUALLY a grenadier and very usefull. Each bullet btw is perfectly tracked, even on shotguns, so you can see execatelly what you hit (well unless it goes in the fog of war, but still hear what it hit). Vehicles i think is useless, not 100% sure tho. Also you level your units…

Doesn't make a bunch of sense to write a review for a game that's no longer on Steam.. But, if you like XCom and want something that's kind of like that.. This kind of scratches that itch.
