About Unformed 破妄

Unformed is one of the most Souls-like Metroidvania 2D horizontal ARPG. Players will explore the eastern dark world, seeking the astonishing truth behind the unspeakable mysterious events.
Dark Souls series (include Bloodborne and Sekiro) are always our studio's favorite, and developing our own soul-like game has been our target since the studio established. Every single player has his/her own understanding about what the most "soul-like" factors are in games, and our game, Unformed is the our studio's first answer sheet. Perhaps there would be no fancy special effects nor eye-dizzying battles, but we do hope players could experience the tesion of exploring dangerous stages and the accomplishment of beating invincible enemies just like they did in Dark Souls series, and enjoy our spooky eastern myths story.
Our game, Unformed is still in early access stage. In the next one year and a half we will keep polishing the current existing content and publishing new content such as stages / enemies / stories etc. Also we will communicate with players on Steam about our developing plan. If any bugs / mistakes happen in our game, please let us know by leaving comment on Steam, we will react as fast as we can.

The game in concept is good but as of right now there is a lack of content. such as a stat that is unlevelable. no armour anywhere that can be used to up defence. only 3 weapon types. no transposing area despite bosses droping "souls" to either consume or transpose overall id say this game is good but it has a LONG way to go before i touch it again cause of issues like Imput lag and lack of variety

This game has the potential to receive an 8 out of 10. The idea if a 2d side scroller under the "Dark Souls" forgiveness is a really cool idea. The era of the game isn't touched much and was a welcome change of pace. However...the input lag, the lack of details in the "how to play" was very frustrating. I made it to my "home" and there were 3 menus. One appeared to be storage, weapon upgrades and something else. I'm going to say it was a kitchen...because I like food...and the game didn't tell me what it really was. I placed some things in storage...and it was impossible to get back. The game again...didn't tell me how to use the menu. I had throwing daggers, fire bombs and other items...but guess what...that game didn't tell me how to use them. The combat was fun...and VERY unforgiving. There appeared to be input lag or a bottle neck on inputs...because sometimes my character would just stand there...and get obliterated. Even though I was given this game for free to review...I'm not going to pull punches...the game already did that. There are some ramps/planes that have the enemy either above or below me...and I my attacks connect even though visually we are not in reach of one…

Another metroidlike platformer game with souls-inspired combat, something that usually is right up my alley so I bought it a while ago and finally got around to play it. Sadly, after about 3 hours I pulled the plug because it started to get really tedious due to the following issues: - Input lag, especially when it comes to dodging (sometimes takes several taps until it performs despite stamina being available) - Attack animations feel way too clunky and slow compared to enemy and boss patterns. Almost every attack feels like a heavy attack with a big weapon, even the twin daggers. It makes the game unneccessarily frustrating cause more than often it's simply impossible to avoid attacks because your own attack animation hasn't ended yet. That issue eventually caused me to quit at the Supervisor boss because seemingly there's no way to get a hit in without getting hit first. Major disappointment! - There seems to be no parry or block mechanic, which is an essential part of souls combat (if there is then I couldn't figure out how to pull it off) Positive aspects are visuals, sound, atmosphere and (if present) music The base is there but this game needs work, especially the comb…

Well, a unique thing i saw and upsets me was the dodge button response. It's don't work well, i push and my character does not roll and if does he does a back dodge instead, what can make the difference in combat. I expect that the developers fix it.

This game is super fun and streamer friendly! My community were able to help me complete hard challenges which I loved! I really loved the look of the game also. Only thing I would say is there needs to be check points and the first beast was a little too hard to defeat. I also think fall damage shouldn't be in it. Maybe switching of weapons by pressing one button on my controller might make it easier in combat :) OVER ALL A AWESOME GAME!
