Developer Note: In the interest of honesty I wanted to add this to the game description. As of now Verdant Village is under reconstruction. An engine change has been deemed necessary for the improvement of the game. The current version on Steam is functional and all reviews posted are of the game in its current form. This message is here to inform any potential buyers of what is going on with the game. Currently any bugs that are found will be left. When the new version is comparable to the live one it will replace the current live game. And of course progress on the new version of the game will be posted each month.

- Nock An Arrow: Stalk the surrounding wilderness for a variety of animals. Hunt creatures with your trusty bow and arrow.
- Have A Taste: Learn to cook a litany of different meals. Get the locals to teach you different recipes and become the best chef in Amberglen.
- Stir The Cauldron: Try your hand at alchemy. Create ingredients from the world around you and blend them together into a variety of potions and items.
- Lend A Helping Hand: Find and complete a variety of tasks for villagers. You'll find that everyone needs something done. Most are willing to teach you something in return as well.
- No Restarts: Take advantage of the patching system to play early. Your saves will carry over between new patches for a cohesive experience.

The beginings of a decent game, but zero difficulty. The developer seems like a genuinely good guy, so I'm guessing why people sploosh about this game. Unfortunately, he is also accountable for creating a fairy-tale world where the main character can't die, and can't help but get rich. The basics of the game are solid-- you can farm, mine, fish and hunt, and gather plants and herbs. There is a cooking system, a potion system and a brewing system. So it seems like it would be all kinds of fun. Except you can't get hurt (only tired), so what do you need cooked meals and potions for? The game has zero enemies, including the mines. You just spend your days making money. Also, with only a couple of updates a year, I'd be very surprised if this ever reaches the level of being a complete game. On a positive note: if the demo is still available, definitely try it out. Like I said, there are parts of a good game here, so some people are going to like it, and the demo gives you a chance to see most of it.10 found this helpful
It a beautiful work in progress that has the classic look but has fun new mechanics and interesting characters. the developer gives fairly regular updates and is transparent about what's happening. I can't wait to see how it develops further
Absolutely in love with this game and i can't wait to see what you do with it! And i will wait for it, please don't give up, i know how hard mental health struggles can be, but i'm betting loads of people are rooting for you and care!
This game is fun and relaxing to play. I really like where it is going and some of the mechanics are very innovative for a farm sim game; mainly the hunting mechanic is very impressive. While there is hunting there is no gore, the developer keeps the artwork and graphics tasteful. The only main problem I have with it is some of the maps are so large you get lost or it takes so long to go from one end to the other. This is something I think the developer is working on. About once a month there is a new developer log or update letting you know about the games progress. If your curious about this game just checkout the demo. As far as farm sim games on a computer this is easily one of my favorites and I enjoy reading the development updates; it's amazing to know that the developer is listening and has players in mind when working on the game. On one last note, the irrigation system in this game is amazing!
