About Wilma's Dreams
Do you ever wonder what your dog is dreaming about when they're asleep? Maybe they're eating their favorite food, maybe they're playing with other dogs, or maybe they're imagining themselves as a giant werewolf monster fighting hordes of vikings, skeletons, and demons! Last year I quit my job and dedicated myself to getting to the bottom of this answer. I returned home and explained my plan to Wilma, the family dog, who agreed to assist. After many months of grueling research utilizing the latest cutting edge science, we can finally take a look into Wilma's Dreams!
Wilma has dreamt up an interesting little world to play in. I think she's watched too many violent movies because each one of her dreams has her facing hordes of different types of enemies that attack her in never ending waves, each stronger than the last. Thankfully as the one in control of her dreams, she's well equipped to face off against the monsters. She can jump and dash her way around and has a strong one two attack combo which can take any threat down. Thankfully there are some friends for her, when she's exploring sometimes a friendly human will make her stronger. She must have seen me play video games too because she's even keeping track of score for some reason...
What you're about to play is the culmination of our research. Many hours of play testing and peer review have verified that this is a very accurate simulation of what's going on in her head. However, with limited funds I've only been able to replicate her dreams as a side scrolling 2D fighting game. There are a total of 4 different areas to explore on the map, and a total of 11 enemies you will face. When you jump in, your goal will be to explore the map, grow stronger, and survive as long as you can earning as high of a score as possible to make Wilma proud!

As an indie developer myself, and an indie game reviewer on Youtube (Zaxtor99 on Youtube), I can clearly see an indie game made from the heart with love and effort and a bad quickly made game with no inspiration. Thankfully, this game is the former and the love and inspiration clearly shows with video of his own dog in the game itself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lahUeyZkw0 The gameplay itself is surprisingly fun, fast, and frantic, and I found myself button mashing as if I was playing a Tekken game just hoping to get in hits before I died! It is MUCH more fun to play than it probably looks like from the trailer. If you are a dog lover, or simply love 2D fighting or platformer games, then this game gets my high recommend! I give this game a solid 8 out of 10 score.. and the love for it inspired by his own dog definitely makes this game shine!5 found this helpful
Chef's kiss! Sole person as developer worked on this and really knows his unity. The snooty negative reviewer falsely claiming "The controls can't be customised" is ree ree ree reeeeee wrong! Love getting to know Wilma!4 found this helpful
Wilma's Dreams is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This shovelware platformer is made with Unity and has amusing segments of full motion video of the developers dog. Which would be charming, but putting the dog up against such a terrible video game may even constitute animal abuse. I hope the dog never saw the game or got told what the footage was for. The game is laughably lazy and poorly made... like, there isn't even a proper turning animation so the sprites just flip around with a little twist effect... it looks crap. Really, really bad. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic low quality art assets used to make the game, which makes …3 found this helpful
Believe it or not, I kinda had some fun with this. I get that it was just a fun thing to make for their dog, kudos to that- but I wasnt expecting boss fights and collectibles, and hidden areas. The combat and such isn't super complex, I just spammed the dash move. But yeah, I put in some time. It actually isn't a bad game for what it is. Movement was really smooth btw1 found this helpful
