About Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection
Pilot, treasure hunter, and courier Ragna Valentine lives a life of adventure flying the high skies of Granvallen. But on a routine delivery to the remote floating continent of Ilvard, he finds himself ambushed by two dragon-riding ne’er-do-wells who send his plane spiraling to the ground.
Fortunately for Ragna, his crash was witnessed by someone in a position to do something about it: vampire princess Alwen du Moonbria. Pulling the dying Ragna from the wreckage of his plane, Alwen forms a blood contract with him, saving his life in exchange for his services as her vassal.
Her request is far from simple – Alwen needs Ragna’s help both to recover her stolen magic, and to retake her castle, wrested from her mere weeks ago by villains unknown. Ragna’s ready to ante up, but on one condition: instead of acting as Alwen’s servant, he wants to undertake their adventure as equal partners...even though it could very well make the going tougher!
So begins the unlikely duo’s trek across Ilvard. Along the way they’ll meet the isle’s strange and colorful residents, battle the minions of darkness, train pets, learn potent skills from a macho masked luchador, and discover the meaning of (slightly dysfunctional) friendship. Sure, the bad guys might have the upper hand, but luckily for Ragna and Alwen, they never saw a tag-team this weird coming!

I really don't see how this has so many positive reviews. The game is nearly unplayable with the control scheme.
Ostensibly an action rpg, but the game never starts. The introductory cutscene never ends. You go from 3D slow pans, to clicking through dialog, to animated video, to more 3D pans, to more dialogue, to flash back screenshots of the video you just watched, 5 seconds of running forward, then more slow pans, more dialogue that's voiced now. And it's so bad - terrible editing, fluffed up nothing dialogue, all for tropes that need no explanation at all. I'm clicking through everything as quickly as possible and the game still hasn't started after 15 minutes. I started mashing as fast as I could and the game crashed, so I guess I'm done. I don't know where I got this but I hope I didn't pay much for it.
The game just oozes charm and personality, with so much life and color in the characters and details of the world. Somewhat heavy story, too. A very fulfilling, dense, 20-hour experience. I'm a big Falcom guy, but didn't get far in the first Zwei before quitting and I almost refunded this one early on as well because I swear it doesn't tell you where to go at first, so I was just meandering around the map trying to figure it out, but every other location is told to you in cutscenes and in the menu. Another reviewer mentioned not knowing what to do with the parts, but the game tells you early to take them to the airstrip garage and there's even flavor text in the menu that tells you explicitly to take it there. That being said, the game doesn't really hold your hand too much - there were a number of boss fights and dungeons where I was slowly losing health and using up food simply because I was trying to figure out how to deal damage to that boss' gimmick or navigate the traps in the dungeon. By the end of the game, I still wasn't sure how to cast arcanum and never used it the entire game - I tried every button and even looked online at the one guide that exists for this game,…
old but gold
This is neither a recommend or a non-recommend. I am neutral with the game for the most part, it's alright. Fun but kind of repetitive. It crashed a few times on the first floor of one of the dungeons, always when I tried to strike one of the flying orange enemies. Otherwise, no issues with performance. If you have a huge back log as is, this tends to be the type of game that just sits in it for a long time. Otherwise, cute enough graphics, interesting enough level system. Took me pretty much exactly 20 hours.
I was just try to find a game to buy last weekend and this just so happen to be on sale so I buy it alongside the other game that was on sale and... well that end up being good decision cause I love this now (not gonna lie though 30fps cap on pc is a bit weird) overall 8/10
