I had to play this game in like one through two mission intervals because this is one of the rare games that would actually infuriate me LOL. A great game by the studio and developers of Risk of Rain, the soundtrack is also by the same artist as Risk of Rain, Chris Christodoulou is an absolute phenomenal composer and artist so I can't praise the soundtrack enough. I really like the setting and art, the character designs are really good especially the final ally you meet at the end of the game, I thought that was the coolest character design yet. I like the story although it doesn't go all that in depth on a lot of background things, it is simple and fun. The gameplay is very similar to Hotline Miami where you are required to strategize your missions because they are one shots, the second you take damage you restart, which can lead to extremely frustrating and rewarding experiences throughout your playthrough. Its maybe not as hard as Hotline Miami but marginally harder than Katana Zero in my opinion, so if you enjoy those games I definitely recommend checking this game out.

I really want to like this game, but once you reach the vampire part of the campaign (the one after the zombies), the game just gets annoyingly difficult. Added to that most of the difficulty is due to the clunky controls - there's one level for example where you need to burn some ash totems within a 60 seconds countdown, however to move quickly through the level you basically need to use the weapons dropped by enemies. If that enemy happens to die in front of the totems, you can't burn the totem, you can only swap your weapon. Horrible programming. The rest of the game was fun, maybe I'm just really bad, but the difficulty to me feels off.

Deadbolt is an incredibly fun stealth puzzle game with precision shooting elements. Simple, effective controls and graphics backed by a light story make for a short, but sweet experience, and there are a lot of weapons available to add variety in your strategies. The soundtrack in this game is fantastic, and the diegetic implementation of the music is quite a joy. I cannot recommend this gem enough.

One of my favorite games of all time. While limited in scope, Deadbolt delivers a master class in compact level design, enemy management, and stealth action. Well worth the time invested. Just don't go for the 100%.
