Forgive Me Father 2

BEAUTIFULL artstyle. All the handcrafted weapons, enemies and scenery are a treat to look at. The gameplay is pretty solid, and there is a bit to do in new game + as well. The level design is a mixed bag, sometimes very good, sometimes mediocre, or even bad. Overall solid game.

I liked it. I loved the first one, and in my opinion this one is even better. The guns are better, the levels are better, and the whole game is just an improvement. My main issue is that it got a little tedious and dragged on too long. The levels were interesting, but it really could have been 1-2 hours shorter. Looking forward to Forgive Me Father 3. 4/5.

Great game, much much better then the first!

So far this has been an improvement over the first in nearly every way for me. My biggest complaints about the first game were the difficulty spike in Act 5, the lack of a map, the looping / mazey level design, and the inability to save outside of save points and level starts. While there is no map still and levels occasionally still loop, they are much easier to navigate. The fact that my light source is a sort of wind up and forget for a while system that lets me fire unlike the lantern in FMF1 is also a huge boon for me. However, the fact that now I can save anywhere with quicksaves AND manual saves AND visible mid level check points is a huge change. I feel some of the complaints about spongey enemies has to do with difficulty. I am playing on Easy and things have been pretty solid. Most fodder take 1 to 2 pistol or shotgun hits, and higher tier enemies feel tough but not overly tough. Additionally, the story in this one is WAY BETTER. The fact that we seem to have 1 protagonist, the Priest, who constantly has discussions with a mysterious voice in his head is fantastic.
