The Chrono Jotter is a well-regarded yuri visual novel that combines compelling character writing with atmospheric environmental art and an engaging blend of mystery and cosmic horror that keeps players invested. Players consistently praise the emotional storytelling, character development, and solid soundtrack, though some note that gameplay mechanics feel inconsequential and certain characters could be more developed, while others encountered technical issues including crashes and resolution problems.
really interesting yuri i love how we get to understand the main character throughout the story and the touch of mystery and cosmic horror makes it more enjoyable.. the artwork is really good especially the environmental/background art imo it captures the feeling of existential dread and despair very well whilst also emphasising character growth and hope. i replay my favourite scenes often. smth about it just very captivating to me
This exceeded my expectations. I was really glued to the the screen reading each scene. And the story really touched me. I would say my biggest issues were the gameplay being very inconsequential
really fantastic vn. however - i did experience many technical issues. firstly, the resolution size would reformat itself after every boot up and the full screen option would make the application unresponsive. also, some actions would cause the game to crash consistently, including trying to access the steam overlay and switching pages of the notebook.
I'm honestly a bit mixed on this one but I enjoyed my time with it enough to justify recommending it. To start with, the game has amazing art and a solid soundtrack yada yada you can tell that pretty easily but this is a visual novel so the writing is what actually matters. As far as the writing goes, it's certainly a mixed bag. I liked the character writing, that much I can say for sure, but I do feel that a certain character
Yoruno lol
was a bit underdeveloped compared to how important they should have been given stuff revealed at the end. Other than that, the writing for the murders are the biggest flaw in this game unfortunately. I felt like each murder was just really short and lacked any sort of interesting twists. This is especially unfortunate when the game literally won't shut up about how interesting and cool past murders were for these characters while the player is left with some really basic stuff. There were like one or two things I thought were neat in the non tutorial murders and that's just a real shame since I felt like this setup would have allowed for some actually compelling murders if more attention was put on them. But at the end of the day…
Amazing well worth the price. - Very good length - Other more game like mechanics that really had to the story - Extremely emotional and rich story that keeps you on your toes Probably the best visual novel i've ever read i highly recommend
Girl kissing in the SCP universe. 10/10
