Take it for what it is. Try and get it on a deal. Imagine you're not playing a video game but rather a very light war-boardgame on your laptop/pc; that is essentially what it is. Don't bother playing without historical mode turned on, and don't bother playing casual. I see a bunch of bad reviews and I really suspect these are from people not playing in historical mode and/or just in casual lol. It's good and satisfies my autism. Well done devs: a game that does what it says on the tin!

Easy to play hex based game. You don't have to spend time to 'build your empire'. Just straight into battle.

An enjoyable, but rather "lite" wargame.

No progression system or ongoing story. Just separate battles that don't tie together at all. Probably good if you're really into this type of strategy game or you're a history buff. Otherwise, it doesn't offer much.

--> This game works in Manjaro Linux (X11) without proton or wine! <-- Wonderful. This is EXACTLY the game I was looking for and it's addictive. Great music, sound and graphics! I wanted the battle of Zama and I got it. I played as the Roman side and won ALMOST losing. As for the Carthaginian side, it's much more complicated and NOT easy to win but still just as much fun to all the strategic movements you need to accomplish to make that win. So far it's been no dice for me! Hannibal's side was so outnumbered compared to the Romans with Scipio. I truly look forward to all the other scenarios this game has to offer as I LOVE the B.C. battles because they truly showed what strategy and brawn it truly took to pull off those battles. You were actually FACE TO FACE on the battlefield and you looked straight into the eyes of your nemesis. Man this game made me feel like I was truly there! Highly recommended game here for beginners as well as seasoned grognards. I LOVE IT.

Not a bad game, but it's not going to beat Field of Glory 2 which is probably the standard now
