✦ AI summary

Everhood is a bullet hell game with an engaging story that most players enjoy, though opinions on its gameplay mechanics are mixed. The main criticism centers on note timing that favors memorization over reaction, and some feel the challenge and design quality decline in post-game content. Players generally recommend it for those seeking a light to moderate challenge, though it's viewed as a solid but not exceptional experience overall.

I got this game based on the raving reviews, but it really didn't work for me. The main draw is supposed to be the combat system, which I thought would be rhythm-focused - but the attacks come out at the beat, so you have to jump/move about a second after it, which for me was jarring and unsatisfying (having to follow the projectiles rather than the groove). Otherwise, story didnt feel fleshed-out, and the gameplay outside of battle is essentially just walking. Music's cute, though.

What a unique and bizarre little game. Great music, a simple yet fun battle system and an interesting world and characters in story about stagnation after immortality and giving these characters a new meaning through death. good game, i recommend, but be careful with the flashing lights.

Everhood is a great and VERY bizarre game. I came here expecting a similar experience to Undertale. It did not deliver that exaclty. It was diferent, original and very weird most of the time. So, come here not expecting much in terms of RPG, or the intensity of the emotional tale of Toby Fox´s game. You may stick because the gameplay is great, the music is one banger after another, and the topics discussed such as eternity and death, are really interesting to tackle. In terms of story, it has a lot of concepts and topics portrayed in an intriguing way, but I think it is bittersweet in it´s delivery. The characters are really fun to look at and all have some sort of quirk as their personality which is really nice and always makes you interested in seing what they have to tell. But I think that few will actually be memorable enough, such as Blue. One strong point is it´s humour. The series of events and situations you will encounter, are both very unexpected, psychodelic and odd. All of this in a good way. On terms of the topics themselves, these are pretty strong. Themes, reflections etc; all of it shows stuff like immortality, death, the value of life, etc. If you relfect upon …

After four hours here are my thoughts on Everhood, I haven't finished Everhood yet but each fight has some unique gimmick or challenge to it and most of them are quite fun. Though if your looking for a true-to-form classic rhythm game, Everhood might not be for you as it’s more focused on bullet hell mechanics rather than specific button presses, and to my knowledge there is no scoring system or way to repeat specific encounters. Current Rating: 3 out of 4 wooden limbs The story has just begun.
