Darwin's Paradox!

What if you took Inside or Limbo, but instead of depressing and obscure environments filled with constant peril you made it colorful and wacky? But also still with constant peril? And include a blue Octopus with googly yellow eyes that pop out of its head and roll around the ground when it inevitably gets fried by an alien? Then you’d have Darwin’s Paradox. The basic plot here is that aliens are out to take over the world by mass-producing a consumer food product made from fish and garbage that will control the minds of the humans. When the aforementioned blue octopus and his friend are captured by the aliens it begins his quest to escape them and find his friend, inadvertently foiling their plans in the process. Listen, you’re not going to get this game for the plot. This is all about the colorful presentation and expressive animations, and the humorous hijinks the octopus gets involved in. It’s definitely a fun ride, though there are plenty of trial-and-error moments when you’ll see your lovable cephalopod die over and over as you attempt to maneuver a particularly tricky set of obstacles. None of them were too difficult though, and plenty were satisfying to figure out and conque…

This game is super great for both kids and adults alike... I don't understand most of the negative reviews. Yes the tutorial shows all then you get amnesia and your skills come back one at a time later in the main story, but that's not an issue at all. Yes, it's also completely linear, and that's completely fine, especially good for younger players. Plus the platforming levels in 2D plane in 3D environment are really great, and the game itself is very fun to play. highly recommended.

[b]Rating[/b] 8/10 [b]Review:[/b] [i]Story and Level Design:[/i] There are two stories being told, one very directly and the other indirectly. The direct story is you, the octopus, are trying to find your way back to the ocean after a serious of unfortunate events. The indirect one is about this food corporation, UFOOD, that's trying to sell seafood to the broader public. This is told almost entirely through the environment and collectibles. This ended up being quite entertaining actually to the point where I wanted to find and read the collectibles to learn more despite being someone who doesn't typically enjoy/care to do that. The level designs are incredible throughout this game, I don't think there was a single entire level I didn't dislike. Every 2-3 levels I ended up finding my new "favourite" level which is a rare feat that the game keeps showing me experiences where I feel like they can't top it, but somehow do. It never feels like any of the levels are reused or feel stale, somehow they manage to keep shaking things up and make them feel fresh. However, I will say while most of the puzzles hit a "that felt good to solve" feeling, there were a few puzzles did feel more "…

Such a fun game, very charming with great level design and humour

I though this would be a great fun and something to play with after work to release the stess. Oh boy, how wrong I was! Though there are fun parts, most of the game is an endless cycle of struggle. It's not challenging it's a souls-like platformer. Do not buy it for money! If you want to torture yourself then wait for a huge discount or a free giveaway!
