Occulto

The problem with this game is that it simply does not work and is intentionally lacking in functionality. The amount of jank you have to go through to solve the puzzles is not worth the effort. To give an example, imagine giving a picture to reassemble, but there is no snap on functionality and the ridges are ill-defined, yet you are expected to place everything perfectly... to the degree where if you are a mm off, you will not be aware of the progress made, or even if you are doing the expected thing. The above is just a small example. Hell, even getting the demo puzzles to work sometimes was frustrating. It is clear that the game is definitely only suitable for early access, if even that, but the functionality is so lacking and frustrating that I don't think it is worth the purchase price past the demo experience.

I had so much fun playing Occulto! It’s a wonderfully crafted adventure that manages to capture the spirit of classic point-and-click games while offering its own unique personality. The developers deserve special credit for continuing to improve the game after its release. The addition of multiple difficulty levels is a particularly welcome improvement, allowing players to enjoy the puzzles at their own pace and making the experience more accessible without taking away the challenge for those who want it. Visually, the game is stunning. The hand-drawn graphics are full of detail and imagination, creating a magical world that is a pleasure to explore. The animations are also incredibly fun and expressive, often adding humor and personality to every interaction. Occulto is clearly a game made with passion and attention to detail. If you’re looking for a charming, beautifully designed adventure with clever puzzles and plenty of character, this is definitely worth playing

Occulto is a charming point-and-click adventure. I like how the story is told and the things I need to do / interact with / combine actually make sense, which I usually have a problem with in other games of this genre. So that's already amazing. The expressions of the characters are great. It had me dying as the protagonist started evil laughing. Or I adored the wobbly face animation of one of the NPCs as they stuck their head through a window. Though I have to say, because the story and levels are so linear, I often got stuck because I didn't know that I can interact with certain things in the world. There is a lot of improvement in my opinion to make that a better experience. The puzzles itself haven't being too difficult for me, though I can see that other players might struggle with a few of them. Overall I really enjoyed my time in this world and I can't wait to see more levels being added.

Really good puzzle pnc, with machinarium vibes. Finished the EA content so far and waiting on more updates! Great artwork and nice story!

very cute art style and animations, some of the puzzles were pretty challenging. some of the character designs were a bit "stereotypical".

Very nice hand-drawn little (20 levels released so far) adventure full of accessible puzzles. The only place where I got stuck and had to check walktrough was how to get above the blacksmith. All the puzlles were challenging just enough. The fact that the game is non-verbal is a nice bonus.
