Story:

The world as we know it ceased to exist. Humanity is at the verge of extinction, living in the last closed city of Bezoar. Mankind wages war against the machines controlling vast areas of what became the 'Barrens'. Machines want to control and assimilate 'The Sanctuary' a network that holds billions of digitalized human minds. Our hero, Maj. Fletcher, is a soldier of CLN - a corporation combat unit, established to protect the city. Machines are constantly assaulting the walls of Bezoar. Fletcher moves in when Bezoar's protective barrier is breached.

7/10 This game has more personality than most AAA games. A vibrant cyberpunk, run down city world full of neon lights that stand out against the ravaged metal grey city landscape. a sky box that is always busy with flying vehicles, lightning, rain and spotlights. enemies that can be fun but basic to fight against with very satisfying and imaginative weaponry. talking of which, 2 guns, 1 bullet and 1 energy, that transform into 5/6 others each. comic book style cutscenes and a story easy to follow. This game is not difficult and some UI stuff needs work such as knowing how much currency you have acquired for upgrade purchases are invisible and cant be found anywhere. Performance wise the game runs wonderfully on my Legion Go with high settings and a 60fps cap, so I imagine anything else wont even be a question. This game feels like the start of a duology or trilogy and do hope a sequel comes out one day. Well worth playing and you wont be disappointed.

This game is good and it hurts me to see it hidden so deep under the pile of generic shooter games. Yeah, it is not perfect and sometimes level design is....questionable, yeah it is quite short and doesn't do much with story or level variety...but also that makes this game feel fresh in this age. You load in and...play it...game is simple and straightforward, sotry is minimalistic but stylish with nice and cheap comic style cinematics, graphics looks amazing even now, especially lighting, and game is cheap. So if you are looking for a quick game to spend evening or two in...this may be it. Have fun, 7,8/10.
