Ghost Song

Damn beautiful game. The story I think holds it all together. It's not real easy to a handle on but that's the fun of it. Figuring it all out. I suggest going in blind and don't listen to the OST before you try the game because it's one of the best things the game has and it's much better experienced first in the game. (Though if your still uncertain give the OST a little listen, Grant Graham has created a masterpiece of an OST). In terms of gameplay, don't expect to be guided everywhere. EXPLORE it's a dang metroidvania for a reason! So just give it a shot and I think your find a beautiful game waiting for you.

It's Temu Metroid. Nothing Vania about it lol. But seriously, it is a Metroid clone. But don't let that be a bad thing. It plays almost identical to Metroid, but where it departs in similarity is the slow, sombre nature of this game. It is not fast-paced by any means. It actually does you good to be patient during combat. And the easy ambient soundtrack makes for great bedtime music. If you want a "relaxing" Metroid game, this is it. It honestly took me a minute to get into it. I was ready to dismiss it because of its close similarity to Metroid. But I decided to stick with it and it grew on me exponentially. But where it really shines and departs is the characters, the dialogue, and the back-story. Each character is unique and special in their own way and very memorable. The conversations run deep at times, and is a mix of text and voice over. The voice acting is phenomenal as well. And the non-human characters turn out to be the most human in alot of ways. The moon itself is a character all its own teeming with bizarre flora and fauna- some of it beautiful, and some of it disturbing. The ending is admittedly a bit weak. I was quite enjoying this, I don't mind too much the empty rooms and the slow walking (though those are *quite* annoying, run being slightly faster but consuming stamina is an awful design, it's not enough faster *even if it wasn't* consuming stamina - if it's a concern for combat then there should be an extra rule that if you haven't attacked in 30 seconds then stamina is unlimited, or something, so that boring traversal isn't made more boring). But the minimap just being loaded with misplaced rooms and openings (so you're marked as inside a wall below the room you're actually in, or the exit from one room is marked as leading into dead-space and the corresponding exit from the adjacent room looks like it doesn't go all the way through) is infuriating, and I just spent an hour visiting every unexplored exit on the map before finally giving up and asking the internet where I'm supposed to go next, and the pre-existing answer comes in the form of someone drawing a red X on the minimap where I've already been and *there is no exit*, plus there's a shortcut I opened previously that bypasses the whole section, so there appears to be no reason to ever go there again. Im not a fan of this type of game, but i loved this one. The movement is a little clunky but man is this game pretty and the ending hit me in the feels I grew to love Little Blue
