Honestly i dont get the hate for this game, it is the best game i have ever played.1 found this helpful

before Squid Games, there was the Nonary Games. it took soooooo long for this game to release.... and even longer for me to finish. I've had this game on pause since the Nintendo 3DS port, and let's just say it's the weakest installment of the Zero Escape trilogy. they opted for ugly ass animated cut scenes than the traditional sprites of the first,"999." it's pretty much a prettier "Virtue's Last Reward" but with less challenging puzzles and nothing original added as the previous stories and games 🙅 oh, and the lips do not sync up to the Japanese, so I thought, "hell, lemme set it to English dubbed for the hell of it" and it was even worse — but made it at least entertaining enough for what little enjoyment I had left from this game. now I wanna replay the Nonary Games! why not eh
This is the ending of the Zero Escape trilogy, and it is by far the worst one. For starters, the 3D models were somehow even worse than in the second game, something I thought was impossible. There is also much more gore, which I found kind of funny because, as I said, the models were awful, so it was pretty hard to take any of it seriously. As usual, pseudoscience and alternative histories are a major focus, especially the future established in the second game involving the Radical-6 virus. I originally blamed Virtue's Last Reward for setting all of this up, but after finishing this game, I think the real problem was how they decided to conclude it. The ending is just frustrating. Yes, I can 100% see the direction they were going for, and I actually found some of the twists better than the ones in the previous game. But after such a plot-heavy, complex, and intriguing story, having such a "vanilla" ending with basically a "we decide our own future" message felt incredibly underwhelming. Disappointing is probably the best word I could use to describe this game.
This game doubles down on all the mistakes of Virtue's Last Reward and also makes brand new terrible ones
absolutely devastated that there isn't another game to play after this one
