✦ AI summary

Dustforce DX is praised for its tight precision platformer gameplay and exceptional soundtrack that players consistently highlight as a standout feature, with comparisons to games like Celeste and Meat Boy. However, players note the movement mechanics have a steep learning curve and can feel stiff or delayed initially, though the feel improves once mastered, and some report input registration issues on high refresh rate monitors with certain controller setups that may require community fixes.

"dustforce" is a really incredible precision platformer. i bought it on sale for 5 dollars and i already feel like i got my money's worth. if you like celeste or meat boy this is a must buy. that being said, if you're buying this game in 2026 there is one thing you need to know: !!! IMPORTANT !!! If you are like me, and playing on a 144hz monitor and are using an x-input controller, your dash is not going to register every time you input it (at least if it's on the trigger, i have not done any testing elsewhere.) For the first 10 hours of playing this I thought there was a hidden cooldown i wasn't getting, NOPE!! Downloading "dustmod" fixed this for me. So if you want to dash with the triggers to keep with your hollow knight muscle memory that is a must-download. also, I had no luck with steam input on this one with my 8-bit-do controller, and had to remap the buttons from within the game. but that might be user error. TL;DR: buy this game!! it's sick!! just be prepared for some finagling if you want to play with a controller.

The soundtrack, oh my goodness. Gameplay feel is a bit stiff and movement feels delayed a bit in my opinion. That soundtrack, though...

Bought this game mainly from hearing the amazing soundtrack, i found the gameplay too difficult, but only put 50 minutes into it, probably could get better if i put more time into it.

Janitor simulator, probably the best platformer I've played to this day (or tied with Celeste) Also music is top notch

Loving it so far. Maybe slightly difficult to get the hang of the movement, and it sometimes feels kind of clunky, but it does feel great when you get it. The soundtrack is amazing, probably worth buying just for it.
