Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Classic 1998 CRPG - highly recommended if you haven't played already.

[h1]An all-time classic for a reason.[/h1] TLDR: Still holds up today and is absolutely worth playing. Baldur's Gate is one of those games you've most likely been hearing about your entire life. It's an RPG that came out before I was born and, very possibly, before you were too. It's an RPG classic, an all-time great, and incredibly important to Western RPGs and RPGs as a whole. If you've played an RPG that came out after it, you've seen its influence in some way. It was not the first to do many of the things that it did well, but it did them very well and a very long time ago. Real-time tactical combat, a branching narrative with player choice, a sprawling adventure experience that is utterly yours. Baldur's Gate did it. If you're like me and grew up on Dragon Age, Pillars of Eternity, and other later offerings, coming back to this game will be a bit of a culture shock. It's [b]hard[/b] early on, an absolutely brutal experience. Your health pools are abysmal, you can't hit the broad side of a barn with a boulder, you're ill-equipped and without much manpower. Gad damn, I'm 16 again. I had it when I was a kid and the game still is a banger. Totally worth it, every freaking penny. And it runs flawlessly in my Linux laptop (EndeavourOS).
