Critter Crops

So far I'm at the 3 HR mark when typing this up, I saw this game ages ago back when it was on kick starter, and when it popped up on my recommended list I was so excited to see it again, but I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before buying... at this point from what I've read, nothing on this game has been updated for over 6 months and is assumed to be dead. Now actually playing the game this becomes pretty evident. Some of the pathing for "what to do next" isn't very clear, some items are hard to grab depending on where they land, and various glitches/bugs. I wont recommend the game based off of the lack of information from the devs if they're still even working on the project but if slightly difficult/buggy gameplay doesnt bother you then I do recommend it, its a cute game and I enjoy where it is/was headed, just needs some fine tuning and bit more work done.

I love the look of this game and the idea a lot. It is so cute! However, the amount of visual bugs and lack of refinement makes it unplayable currently. It needs a lot of work. Menus and alerts shouldn't stay stuck on your screen. There is a lot of refinement to be done with the information available to players as well as controls. Using a controller on PC feels really janky but it is just as bad using the mouse and keyboard. When I can't do what I want with one, I use the other, which is tiresome. Selling to Greeves would often just freeze and I couldn't select anything or move between items. Overall, I like the premise, but the execution is disappointing and needs to go back to the workshop. There is just so much potential here.

I really wanted to like this game. I even purchased the plushies! But I just can't enjoy a game this glitchy. There's very little direction given for the story line and the stone puzzle is still stuck years after release on a fresh install. :(

Glitchy, but fun.

I was so excited to play this game. I like the idea of a witchy/creepy farming sim where the critters are what you grow. At first, I had a lot of fun looking at the critters I was growing. The fighting was pretty easy too, and easily avoidable by sleeping at night. I felt the period of time between unlocking the second set of thorns and getting the hell fire spell was too long. I felt like I was doing nothing for a solid hour, just waiting for the materials I needed to become available. Once I unlocked the next part of the game, the frost land, I was confused on what I was supposed to do next. After staying in the frost land for a coupe of in game days, I went back to mur mur town and found my party of critters I had stashed in the barn, were completely gone. I have no idea what happened and I'm very upset about it. Overall, I lost my critter party and the story felt rushed. What do you mean I just unlocked a new part of the world but haven't even met one traveler yet? If the travelers don't come until later, maybe don't do the whole friend tutorial right after unlocking the shops. I hope I can play this game later, but as of right now, it feels incomplete.

Mimic butler bugged and wouldn't let me sell, so only source of income is weeding at the start of the day. But I can't sleep until the end of the day and it's not like I can fish or mine or anything cuz I can't sell the stuff, so I'm already sitting on my hands for 10 minutes each day watching the clock til I can weed again. But then after 50 minutes my controls bugged and I couldn't do anything except alt f4. I don't think I'll bother checking if my progress saved.
