I got interested in Bjorn becausde of the art style, which truly looks great. However, the gameplay, especially the combat, is severely lacking.6 found this helpful
BJORN (AKA Cloud Island Demo???) is a badly made 3D rendered 2D platformer/brawler with lightweight RPG elements and some of the worst production values I've seen in a game. This scandinavian themed narrative driven action game has you chopping things (and people) with an axe, running around, and generally getting a headache from the poor technical implementation. Sometimes games are implemented so poorly that it's just impossible to get into the gameplay, story, plot etc, and unfortunately this is one of those cases. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handli…4 found this helpful
I have been playing this game on and off since I bought it. Since there is no neutral recommendation, I give this game a positive recommendation. I have encountered several glitches in the game: floating in air from the falling rocks you have to jump on, placement of the character in awkward places, and fighting a character after he could not reach me as I was on a wooden plank (was not able to attack me). Despite those glitches (so far), I have enjoyed the game. As a noob to PC play, it has made me a better keyboard/mouse player. The design/graphics of the game is why I bought the game. Some of the sound elements need to be adjusted (especially when you die: extremely loud). Anyhow, given the price currently (as it is on sale) is worth it. Thanks!4 found this helpful
