Valkie 64

I don't really like dropping games, especially ones that are this short. But I think I'm just going to say no to this one and uninstall. Ocarina of Time came out nearly 30 years ago and somehow this is just a downgrade in every aspect. Normally I can look past jank but I was trying for the no upgrades achievements and every time you get 1-tapped the game respawns you at the beginning of the dungeon resetting all enemies and puzzles. The only thing you keep every death are key items but that's just isn't worth repeating all these poorly designed rooms to try and claw to a "checkpoint" Respect to the dev for not compromising on their vision but I just think it's trash.

Hey this game is alright! I've seen some reviews that are dissapointed that it doesn't have the same production quality as its inspirations, but it's ridiculous to set those kinds of expectations on it. This seems to mostly be a 1 person passion project and ought to be reviewed as such. The sound mixing isn't always great, the story is skeletal, and there's a total of 1 item that meaningfully changes how you interact with the world. But the combat is decent, the graphical styling is close to the games it's mimicking (despite the unreal engine lighting debuff in places) and there's enough content to be engaging for the few hours of runtime it provides per playthrough. This game isn't going to blow your mind, and it's not going to scratch the same itch as that one game that many consider to be one of the greatest of the medium. But it's a very solid solo effort that shows flashes of something greater than the sum of its parts. I hope the dev continues to create games, regardless of style, as I think there is potential here.

A short and sweet legend of zelda tribute that has very little puzzle solving and lacks staying power. however it can be fun for an afternoon if you want to unwind after a long day.

A very charming game in the style of the n64 zelda games. It's a shorter adventure like Siactro's games at a lower price point. It's a simple adventure of a lone greatsword-toting valkyrie who goes out to smite evil in the four corners of the world. The music and aesthetics are quite nice, the game has a good pace and can be beaten in a single afternoon, and the gameplay and combat is simple enough while still having a good challenge to it. You have a dodge, two attack patterns, and a parry as your main defensive option instead of a block like the games it takes inspiration from, which lets the combat be a bit more dynamic rather than just hold block>strike>hold block. The game lets you take on the four worlds in any order, too, which is nice for replays. I'd recommend it at full price, personally. A few bucks for a charming evening of fun is a good deal in my book.
