Players praise this Far Cry entry as a standout title with an engaging story that maintains momentum throughout, excellent gameplay, and a compelling setting that serves as a great entry point to the franchise. However, the game suffers from significant technical issues with frequent crashes occurring during both tutorials and regular gameplay, which substantially detracts from the experience for many players.
Far Cry 3 has aged quite well, and I think that one of the biggest reasons for that is Vaas. He is an awesome villain, that I would describe as unpredictable, threatening, charismatic and genuinely memorable. The opening sequence in the camp with Vaas I found disturbing, but at the same time it was also brilliant. The game throws you straight into a desperate escape attempt with just the right amount of panic. I think it remains one of the strongest openings to a Far Cry game and arguably the best. We can discuss that in the comments. :) Gameplay is quite the Ubisoft formula so there will be no surprises for anyone. Crafting is straightforward enough without being unnecessarily complicated. You hunt animals for skins and collect plants to improve your gear, increase your carrying capacity helping to keep yourself supplied. Some of the animals are quite tough too, which makes hunting them far more entertaining The game weapons are decent, with lots of choice depending on how you want to approach a mission.
