To me, a bit repetitive and boring

This is one of those games that was a no-brainer to 100%. I loved creature collectors and this scratched that itch while feeling new and authentic. I will admit I was mesmerized by the story and there was enough endgame content that left me satisfied. I will admit once I reached that 100% achievement it was bitter sweet. This is one of those games I'll play immediately if my memory is wiped, it's that good!

Yes, but. This is a great riff on the companion monster collection genre. Some good platforming, and interesting use of companion abilities. But when you start wishing that the game had an auto battle mode, you realise it's probably not for you any more.

What Pokemon should have been. Imagine a combat system so addictive you're actually *excited* to jump into the next random encounter because you can't wait to get that last experience point to unlock a new ability on your monster's skill tree or you've been crafting new synergies and want to test out an experimental team. It's _that_ engaging. As for the story, it's whatever. I found myself skipping throug the dialogue often (haha). The monster designs are more akin to what you'd see in Monster Rancher than Pokemon or Digimon, which is totally fine by me. Honestly it's everything you could ever ask for in a monster taming RPG. They took the Pokemon formula and PERFECTED it by improving every single thing (about the gameplay that is. Maybe not the music, story, or designs, but even those elements are more than passable in a game like this). All in all it's a SOLID reccomend. Do yourself a favour and give it a spin!

Absolutely fantastic rpg. Decent enough story with a huge variety of gameplay, built in randomizer adds tons of replay.
