Hell Architect

A rubbish copy of "Oxygen Not Included" to a tee, but with a different coat of paint. You’re better off playing the original.

I want to tell you its a good little game if you go in not hoping for too much, it can be funny, the story was relatively interesting but I found it boring. It took me far too long to finish the game as I kept getting bored and moved on to anything else. when I did finally decide to lock in and complete the game and get all the achievements its appears that the game has been abandoned. It is next to impossible to get the last achievement, and I sunk easily 2 days of time into it with two attempts 15/17 hours each attempt.

The developers had some ideas for mission dialogues, building names, VIPs, and the overall vibe, but lacked the ideas required to build a game around those concepts. There is nothing to do between those rare moments when you can say, "that's funny and clever." You can build all the production buildings in a couple of minutes and then just wait. Also, what depth can you expect from a colony sim that manages to fit all resource counters on a single screen? It shouldn't fit.

It has a great theme and humor. The whole idea of organizing hell has a lot of charm. Visually, it has a cute cartoon-ish style, which fits the humor. Gameplay doesn’t live up to it. It becomes repetitive quickly. Systems feel shallow, and once you understand the core loop, there isn’t much evolution or challenge to keep things interesting. The pacing also slows down noticeably after the early stages. It's fine to pass some time. Offers nothing to keep you invested for longer.

Get to manage hell and torture (or rather, "make others suffer")... why the HELL not? Great bang for buck! As always, try to get on sale-- but if the itch is too real, go for it --> it won't be one of those "damn i bought that?" games, promised!
