Above: The Fallen

This game looks a bit sloppy and sometimes bugs out with the movement but it's free and makes for a fun game to play with a friend.

Игра 'Above: The Fallen' оказалась приятным сюрпризом в жанре souls-like. Она с упором больше на исследование, атмосферу и повествование, нежели ультра-хардкорную сложность. Сеттинг - постапокалиптический мир, парящий в облаках, захватывает с первых минут благодаря красивой графике и интересному дизайну уровней. Боевая система простая, но эффективная, с необходимостью вовремя парировать удары и использовать специальные способности. История подается фрагментарно через окружение и диалоги с немногочисленными NPC, что создает ощущение загадочности и желание узнать больше о произошедшей катастрофе. Боссы представляют собой довольно серьезный вызов, заставляя адаптироваться к их паттернам атак. Однако, игра не лишена недостатков. Иногда встречаются небольшие технические проблемы, а система прокачки персонажа кажется несколько ограниченной. Тем не менее, общее впечатление от игры остается положительным. 'Above: The Fallen' – это атмосферное и увлекательное приключение, которое порадует любителей жанра и тех, кто ищет не слишком сложный souls-like с акцентом на исследования и сюжет.

i understand puzzle games not wanting to hold your hand, and i usually appreciate that, but the lack of direction here sometimes is so frustrating. getting through a section just to figure out we needed the other character to get there to go through their designated door (bc they only want to show you items/passageways related to that character when you've gotten all the way through) was time consuming and irritating. also, we genuinely could not even solve the puzzle immediately after the female character unlocks the ability to control animals. nothing there made any sense at all n we tried to get past it/think of solutions for around 30mins controls also suck n sometimes are unresponsive or glitch n do the incorrect power lol

Single-player my foot ! (That said, no idea if it's any better in coop.) The controls are intellectually bankrupt. The game softlocks in the first minutes. It's not like the cheap animation is this freebie's selling point, is it ?
