This is a beautiful game in every sense of the word so I don't want to be reductive but I just have to say when I first booted the game up I wasn't expecting....well, *most* of that, but especially the male breastfeeding scene.3 found this helpful

a game that sits with you
Overall the game was fine, but everything after the throne fight and novelty of secret hunting wore off fairly quickly
(want to recommend so just pasting from my journal:) impressively cohesive considering it’s just a rambly shaggy dog story. mainly attributed to its visual language being so clear and consistent like its use of tiles and ‘gaps’, the particular way characters die (turn red fade away) etc Creates a visual and audio language that allows it to reuse sounds or effects almost as an in-joke with the player. brought back the feeling of playing games as a kid, not in a ‘retro’ or nostalgic way, more about the logic and the way the dialogue glances off ideas, The repetition, abstract plotting, the collaging allusions from different cultures and obtuse style of writing that has an original poetry that is following its own rhythms to the extent it almost feels translated. had me in a state of wonder. « Los angeles is hard and wide... i hide myself in strangers» « If you meet me, will you call me? For a day? a month? a year?» It’s got a rhythm of small levels that all seem like random wandering then suddenly you come across a densely plotted story already in full swing with new mechanics and tone. The way it plays with its gameiness is all so affectionate and unironic. i keep feeling like…
Just amazing
