Set three years after "Atelier Ryza," this game tells the story of matured Ryza and her friends as they reunite and have new encounters, all leading into an important decision. The story of summer and youths begins anew.

Ryza 2 was my favorite of the original Secret trilogy...and I'm glad to see that on replay with the DX version...that isn't likely to change. Everything from the original game has been enhanced...combat has been overhauled and is actually fun, synthesis is simple on the surface but rewarding to those who take the time to invest in it, and the character stories are top notch. There were a few new QoL additions to the DX release as well, such as a viewable basket counter while in the field so you know how much space you had at any time, as well as a few new playable characters. It's...still kinda hard to recommend double dipping as there isn't THAT much new content here...but if you've never played Ryza 2 before, this is the way to go.2 found this helpful

Review coming straight off from Ryza 1 DX after 100% and I highly suggest playing the 1st Ryza game even for just the story as it added immensely to my enjoyment of Ryza 2's story seeing how the crew is doing, what they've been up to and the growth/changes they underwent 3 years later. They've made so much improvements from the 1st that I felt that the $40 standalone/undiscounted asking price is warranted. (Just buy the bundle or wait for a sale on the bundle) Pros: - This game feels like it has twice as much voiced cutscenes than the previous game. - It has way better pacing, hook was immediately apparent from the 1st hour, and I played 7 hours straight the moment I booted it up. - Compared to the first game, this game still feels like AA but plays more in-line with any modern game released in the past decade, where the 1st felt like an indie passion project or a 20-year old game remastered with better graphics. Heavy asset re-use still present with enemy mobs but a lot less offensive than the 1st, either that or I'm just used to it. - Map layout, exploration and traversal are heavily expanded, with a lot less invisible walls. Jumping is actually useful now because of verticality…1 found this helpful
Still cute wholesome characters. Still the best alchemy system in gaming. I kinda like the first game a little more, but this one is also good. Especially for those who enjoy collecting (though I prefer collecting creatures in JRPGs).
best one in the Ryza DX series for me. best fan service moments best game length way better cc recovery for item usage, making them actually usable in combat Just a solid and fun experience.
