✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the satisfying melee combat mechanics and weapon variety, with some praising it as a solid value at discounted prices around $15, though opinions diverge sharply on whether it's worth the full $30 price tag. The main complaints center on the stationary gameplay (no movement), unfair boss design with unreachable enemies, unclear historical context due to unreadable text, and a general identity crisis between being a history game and an action wave shooter. Most criticism revolves around pricing relative to content depth and the lack of locomotion limiting combat strategy.

5/10 This title is unsure what to be. Is it a history game or an action game? Lets look at each: As a history game there is no information to read (that is readable) that provides context. My computer loaded the levels too quickly for me to have a chance of reading the information that flashed up between stages. DEVELOPER: let me cick to begin! As a result, I'm not sure who I am even fighting for or against, let alone why. Hmmm. Fail. As an action title, there is fun to be had here. It is a variant of a wave shooter with quite convincing sword and bow-play. The bosses are pants. Some of them stay way out of reach and stab you with spears. There is no movement in the game, so this felt really unfair. Also, the game "checkpointed me" with current health, meaning I was continually fighting the same battle with a dot of health left on the meter whilst some fat bozo kept prodding me with a spear. Overall a reasonable experience that underestimated my interest in the subject matter and thought I wanted yet another wave shooter. I didn't. And even if I did, there are better ones out there.

Great game for $15. However, any more than that, it is not worth it in my opinion. It is not as silly as Gorn, and the graphics are much more real, rather than cartoony.

Not sure what's up with all the hate.... I mean, I guess full price is pretty pricey, but I picked this up for 15 bucks and don't regret it. Have been looking for a fun melee game that isn't as silly as Gorn. Combat feels good; bosses are fun. There's a handful of different weapons to be a badass with. Fun stuff.

Gives me vibes of wishing it was dynasty warriors in VR. It's not that though. This game is more like Titan Slayer or Ninja Legends. Above average graphics and enemies that are pretty fun to kill. Very intense workout too. Not bad if you don't mind mindless arcade style games.
