About Dear Home
Dear Home is a game where you play as a tiny robot with the special mission to explore an unknown planet.

Somewhere in the universe, at some unknown time, a small spaceship lands on a large planet.
Inside, some robots are ready to explore this unknown world and fulfill a long-received mission: to seek intelligent life or to help one of the local species to evolve into a peaceful civilization.
Which species would be best suited to receive alien help?
And what will be the result of this interaction?
To know the outcome of this incredible story (maybe not that incredible ...), just start this nice little adventure!

Please contact us if you have any problems, suggestions or feedback. We are very happy to launch Dear Home and we want you to have as much fun playing our game as we had fun creating it.

This game offers you:
- Exploration: Travel with your robot through many of the scenarios: grass, mountains and snow;
- Mining: Shape the area around you by mining and collecting resources;
- Crafting: Use the resources you collected for your improvements and to build new stuff;
- Puzzles: Many puzzles to solve while you explore the land;
- Story: A simple story written by some optimistic developers ;)

Dear Home is a unique blend between a sandbox game and a “pushing-blocks / sokoban” kind of game. It focuses on exploring and collecting natural resources from your environment, while the quest items or some more rare materials are obtained by solving small puzzles. You use the mouse or the keyboard to control a robot that just arrived on an unknown planet, together with 3 talkative spaceship modules. One of them landed right next to you and talking to it / completing the quests that it gives you will act more or less as a short introduction meant to show you the basic mechanics. You’ll find out that the robot can gather soil and mine stone, which can then be used for unlocking new research entries or crafting items. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2262473043 However, in order to get some of the more rare materials, you will need to solve several block puzzles that are literally laid down on the map. While the game’s perspective is isometric, entering one of these puzzle areas will switch it to a top-down, 2D view. All the puzzles are unlocked from the start and they can be entered and exited any time during your exploration, nothing is restricted i…23 found this helpful
First impression: medium-sized exploration puzzle game. This is a first impression because I got killed by a T-Rex on my first playthrough, which has never happened to me in a Sokoban-style game before. This game is special! The premise is that you have a tech tree that allows you to mine resources and build stuff, and for some research you need unique materials that you can get by solving box-pushing puzzles that are scattered around the environment. This is all good fun except for wo things: 1) The inventory is quite limited, and you can't discard unique resources. If you pick up puzzle rewards you don't yet need, you may find yourself unable to complete the research you need to progress (e.g. to unölock a bigger inventory). 2) The level is quite big and confusing, and you don't get a map until you've found and solved all the map pieces puzzles, which isn difficult because you have no map. Apart from that, I thought the game was well made. It supports keyboard or digital gamepad as controls, and I found the world quite engaging. Some of the puzzles I've encountered are difficult! (I've yet to find out if you can cheat by building on the playing field, but I suspect you can't.)…8 found this helpful
