糺糺縁糸（きゅうきゅうえんし） (2026)

糺糺縁糸 is a really atmospheric horror adventure that I liked because it focuses more on mystery and psychological tension than constant action. I follow two schoolgirls whose lives change after they enter an abandoned farmhouse surrounded by rumors of a terrible family tragedy. I enjoyed the setup because it immediately gives the story a sense of folklore and danger without explaining everything upfront. The exploration is built around a top down two dimensional map where I search locations, investigate events and look for clues. I liked having to pay attention to the environment because important information is not simply handed to me through a series of objective markers. There are also puzzles and escape sequences, so the game can suddenly shift from quiet investigation into something much more stressful. The relationship between Yukari and Aoi is one of the most interesting parts for me. They are very different personalities, with Yukari being far more confident about investigating supernatural events while Aoi is much more cautious.
