I will say that this collection is probably the best way to play these games going forward... But I'm also just really bewildered at how dry they were with putting this collection together. Both of the games here are good. iX1 I do believe is a step above iX2 though I'm also a bit of an iX2 defender. In terms of actual value for that game, this collection does make my conclusion for my review on that game there a lot more redundant (DLCs for both games are bundled in). On a surface value, if you don't have both games than this is probably the best place to start. HOWEVER, for us that have followed Inti for awhile this might be a much harder sell outside of that loyalty discount when the game dropped. The main issue being that there's very little added for coming back to these games. In the long term I guess it could be worth it... But that also kinda depends if there isn't going to be an iX trilogy collection down the road, which might seem like a jinx but also Inti's current track record has been just very weird to say the least. (As I've never paid attention to INTI aside from Dragon Marked for Death.) So I certainly came in post that series, and apparently Ive been spoiled finishing the first game here in IX. Not any real changes besides FPS Ix 1 amazing (~$15) dlc (~$4) Ix 2 still offensive (~$25) decent value overall, you'll probably want more after ix 1 and buy ix 2 anyways

The whole package is great for those haven't purchase the og games since it brought in few improvements and some questionable downside to iX2. But this has the entire DLCs so you don't need to spend another 30$ for them in iX2 lol. iX1: The improvement in Darkness Trigger with the shot damage increase really helped with the lack of shot upgrade the game doesn't have. The downside is still the VS Boss missions are locked behind beating Score Attack (from start to Special Missions and Boss Rush) which is very scummy to do. The game didn't stated any where but when you hold the L2 or R2 on VS Boss missions you can fight their Hard variant since only Giant Lola and Butterfly Effect doesn't have their own Special Mission to use this variant. This input does not work on normal stages and Boss Rush cause of the final boss, EX Blade can't use this input either cause she's already a pain to deal with anyway lol iX2: So turn on every DLCs and beat them as early as possible cause the game is a chore to go through without these upgrades, Especially Jason, Kirin and Yang Yumo. I like the first game. Copen plays nearly exactly like his GV2 Counterpart, albeit with new EX Weapons and no healing button. But OD with all upgrades is so broken anyway, you don't even need that. Being able to bounce around and do big midair combos is fun as hell. That being said, I cannot, in good faith, possibly recommend iX2. They nerfed Copen to the ground. They gave him a melee, took away his bullits, removed his stomp, everything that made Copen actually good, they said "Nah, ♥♥♥♥ you." And the worst part is they had an opportunity to fix all of those issues in this collection, and just... didn't. Get the first game, forget about the second.
