If you told me they didn't playtest this at all I would believe you4 found this helpful
It wasn't great in 2014 and it hasn't gotten better with age. Much like Starbound, there's not much meat to the game - you're fighting the same three fights over and over and over again barely strung together with a few sentences of dialogue between each mission. Add in terrible accuracy curves, clunky inventory management, and no experience gain - then you really have no reward for grinding through the story to reveal the next story segment. If the story was good, I would recommend the investment - but it's a fairly boilerplate "stranded in space, get to the cockpit" trope.3 found this helpful
If you like Turn Based Strategy and 100% completion, then this game is for you. The story is enjoyable, the characters are memorable and the grinding is almost non existent. It took me close to 20 hours to finish Halfway and it was satisfying. Unless if you're looking for 100% achievements, then probably add 30 more minutes to the total playtime, which is, not bad at all.2 found this helpful
Although this game isn't as polished as their sequel Pathway, I still love it! :D There's something about this system of flat 2D strategy games I just love and this one delivers :) Looking forward to more Robotality/ChuckleFish games in the future! Fantastic work :D2 found this helpful
Do you like gambling but don't want crippling debt? Then this game is for you. Miss 6 shots of 70% and then get one of your squadmates sniped from the other side of the room with 4 hits. This game truly is the casino experience, chances of winning might seem fair but the house always wins. Do you like unforgiven strategy games? Get XCOM or xenonaut, Little to no costumization, spongy enemies and as I said before the probability feels worst than any 95% miss in XCOM. i made this review while doing the two man missions after getting the full squad and since i have gambling mentality i will finish this game
Love it!!
