Players appreciate this as a challenging classic with impressive attention to detail in weapons, sound design, and atmospheric storytelling that holds up as a historical reference point. However, the clunky controls (particularly driving and aiming), unforgiving mission design with poor resource allocation, and steep difficulty curve frustrate modern players, though customizing controls to a GTA-style layout significantly improves the experience.
Oh this is a classic alright, but it's harder than you think. Totally worth the pain and suffering.
this game comes from a time where no one knew what the ideal game controls were - not even the devs. the game is amazing and becomes very easily playable ONLY AFTER you change the controls to a more modern GTA-ish style. 9/10 would recommend. the one point is for some mission design, there is no rightful reason for a respectable Mafia Don to send one of his best men on a mission with a baseball bat, a Colt and 15 BULLETS, only for you to find out there´s like 30 guys with a Thompson´s waiting for you there, and they all have like 500 ammo. Don Salieri seriously underestimates the situations he´s sending his men to.
for its time its a great game. There is some cool attention to detail with the weapons, relaoding, the sound effects etc. really cool game. The controls are fairly clunky but its part of it charm and comes with nature of realism of reloading. It's a dificult game for my skill level and death in the game is a decent loss. annoying as it is, the challenge is what makes it rewarding and fun. glad I palyed this classic. It is a good insight into these types of games and its fun comparing it up againts other games like it. The story is slow but it is cool and has some charm to it.
Mr salieri sends his regards
Ok, I have so much to say about this game, negative and positive sides. Let's talk about bad things first. I understand that game is from 2002, and that it was sat in the 30s, but driving in this game, at the beginning it was so hard for me to understand driving, later I become a better at driving, so that means you have to take some time. It's challenging but ok, ok, next thing. Aiming, aiming is so so bad, I had so much problems with hitting opponents, aiming is so hard in this game that you really need good skill with that. It's realistic that you can die if you get shot few times, ok, I'm ok with that, but the problem is missions rarely have health kit (that can give you 30-100 health) when you really need them, in those missions where it's all about shooting you'll hardly find it. Now, missions. Missions like missions are not that bad, BUT, the problem is they are really confusing (at least to me at first as a new player). They were so confusing that half of the missions I needed a tutorial to see where I need go. I finished the game in 17 hours, I can imagine how much longer it would take me if I didn't decide to get help from the internet. Poliiiiceee, to be honest the polic…
