Recommended on a sale. Unlike some other negative reviews, I didn't actually have any crashed or stability problems, the game ran smoothly. Instead, as I was making my way through the story, completing some side-objectives here and there, and taking my time exploring, I slowly realised that I was just going through the motions. I rarely felt like the game was exciting me with something new, and I felt like it never quite knew if it wanted to be collectathon, platforming, or exploration focused. The game is extremely charming, I love the 2d cinematics, the art style, and designs. But unfortunately, the gameplay is a little too simplistic for me. The deliveries felt pretty simple, and the gameplay loop doesn't really change throughout the entire story. The flying mechanic is more of a gliding with an occasional "jump", but controls a little awkwardly imo. I think I would've liked to be able to actually fly with the last broom upgrade, but maybe that would've broken the gameplay. The writing is a little simplistic, but at least it's cute and charming to interact with the people on the island. But I absolutely don't think this is a bad gamestudio for their next game. Cannot recommend - crashes are continuous and I cannot progress due to this.1 found this helpful
Fun and cute game! Accessible for less experienced gamers while still having challenges. If you're looking for a relaxing game that isn't just a walking simulator I highly recommend this one. Gameplay is mostly 3D platforming on the broom (hover physics), with a side of exploration and collectibles. Post-game there are some Zelda-like puzzle dungeons that introduce new mechanics, but they build on the solid foundation of simple movement tech. I love the art style, it feels like a game that should have come out on the Nintendo 64 but with higher poly counts. There are some occasional issues with character art covering up dialogue, and the menus can be a little opaque at times, but otherwise the experience is very clean and welcoming. Looking forward to more from this studio!1 found this helpful
It sorely lacks polish, but there is an amazing game in there, and it's worth dealing with the flaws. Get the bad out of the way first: The music almost never lops properly, leaving nothing but silence for long sections of gameplay unless you change areas. The game lacks tutorials in some places (I didn't realize the broom recharged when you touched the ground until Day 2). I had to restart my entire playthrough to get 100% because I accidentally delivered a bad item and the game autosaved. It didn't take me long to get back to where I was, but none of the cutscenes are skippable and having to spam through the dialogue grew very tiring. (Also, it bugged the achievements, giving me quite a few before I'd actually earned them.) My PC crashed constantly when I was in the dungeons. I could run the rest of the game on the highest settings without problem, but in the dungeons I had to close all other programs and revert to potato graphics, and even then the music stuttered and my PC chugged. After losing progress the first time I saved in dungeons constantly. (To be fair, the dungeons are not required to finish the game, only 100% it.) However, there's a lot of good to be said about th…1 found this helpful
Probably one of the most heart warming and heartfelt games I've played in a long time. An absolutely excellent buy. The graphics are cute, the music is fantastic and the story is very sweet.
I'm in the credits of this game! After backing it on Kickstarter years and years ago, it's so cool to see the finished product. Although this is like the third time I'm starting the game from the beginning because of all the beta testing and that got old fast, but I'm finally into new content in the game and that's very exciting! The movement mechanics are so satisfying and the characters are bright and smiley in the best way. Even your snooty boss who's supposed to be a jerk has a nice side and is charming in his own way. I'm a big fan of this game and I'm excited to play more!
