About Planaris 2+

Planaris 2+, an enhanced version of the hit browser-based & mobile game Planaris 2, is a new take on classic line-matching gameplay.
Place polyomino shapes anywhere on the grid to clear lines(vertical or horizontal), earning powerups for multi-line clears. Watch out for pesky locks that spawn periodically and impede your progress! The game is over when you can't place any more shapes.

This game is very easy to pick up and play with simple, intuitive mechanics that can be learned in 5 minutes... but deep enough to provide a challenge for those looking to master every level.

Planaris 2+ has the following key features:
  • 3 Classic game modes: Normal, Multiplier, and Survival
  • A "campaign" mode with a non-linear progression of over 50 levels with different shapes, sizes, and rules.
  • 3 Different powerups to earn: Bombs, Line-Bombs, and lock-clearing Keys

Planaris 2+ has several advantages over Planaris 2:
  • Steam leaderboards
  • Steam cloud saving
  • All new levels available in campaign mode
  • Better visual fidelity, fullscreen and 4k support.

An interesting variation on the tetris idea. It's pretty fun but could also get addictive if you are prone to playing tetris. solitaire etc compulsively. There are a lot more detailed reviews than this but wanted to leave a positive vote. If you ever wished tetris was't a timed game and you could place the pieces instead of having them fall, this is for you.

Planaris 2+ is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a lazy cash grab. It's a basic Tetris ripoff with a few twists. Instead of falling blocks, you can place them as you wish, but you have a limited playing area and if you run out of moves, it's over. There's a couple of other twists like some squares can be "locked" until you clear a line adjacent to that square, so that's some challenge. I guess that makes this more of a thinking game than Tetris, but it's hard to say this is any kind of improvement over a decades old game. Surprisingly for a mobile app, you do get the choice to set your own game resolution, but the minimalist art assets and shallow nature of the game don't afford any quality visuals anyway. It's just blocks. Yawn. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. They want $6 USD for this free mobile app! Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a SIX DOLLAR premium for a free mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. I didn't spend thousands building a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone. Just who do they thin…

Take the basic gameplay of Tetris but remove gravity. You now can play at your own pace as you setup big combos of lines both vertically and horizontally. As just being able to place pieces completely freely would be a bit too easy, the game adds the concept of locks, which are nasty bits of debris that block line placement unless you clear a line right next to them. Another neat twist is if you ever do manage to get a 2 or more line combo, a few handy powerups will be dropped on the board that activate when you clear a line with them inside. If really looking for a chance to break your mind, you can take on the campaign of 50 levels, each with their own twists to the rules and or take place in oddly shaped levels.

fun and surprisingly well polished! i haven't played that far into the game yet so i'm not certain the price is worth it for the content, but still it's pretty cool and i'm sad to see it only has 12 reviews so far

Surprisingly good for how simple it seems. A lot of the stages are kinda played the same way, but others actually make you think and set up a strategy, so it has depth. I'd like it more if there were more of the "different" stages and less of the conventional/basic ones, but I had fun and the game itself was definitely worth it.
