About Rogue Summoner

Rogue Summoner is a turn-based tactics roguelike about conjuring creatures to fight for you. It's a game about mastering different monster behaviors and using them creatively in combat.

You will dive deep into different types of procedurally-generated dungeons, each with its unique difficulty, size and creatures. Death in each one means starting over from the very beginning of the dungeon, with no upgrades nor monsters in your loadout. But with death comes understanding and hidden knowledge of the dungeons' secrets.

As you master each unique creature, you will be able to optimize your strategy by exploiting their weaknesses when fighting against them, and leveraging their strengths when summoning them. Every creature you defeat can be added to your loadout, from a half-witted spider to the great Morthgaal.
  • Explore different types of procedurally generated dungeons, each with its unique theme, difficulty and monsters
  • Summon every creature you encounter, from spineless minions to mighty bosses
  • Master and combine different behaviors creatively
  • Create and Execute your strategy in a turn-based, table-top combat system
  • Cast your own combos with different monsters, magic potions and rune spells
  • Upgrade your skills as you level up and go deeper into the dungeons
  • Become the Rogue Summoner - no matter how many deaths it takes

I'm giving this a thumb's up, even though I personally don't enjoy this game as much as I could. The reason is because this is a rogue-like, and I prefer rogue-lites (metaprogression). Fun game, though, for those who enjoy such.

Ok, first of all lets get the negative stuff out of the way... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD let me save my progress. getting thrown back to the VERY BEGINNING every single time is so annoying it completely destroys any enjoyment I MIGHT have gotten from the game. almost all games have some form of save feature that lets you pick up where you left off. not this game. gotta sign off for the night? Congratulations! you have lost all your progress and all your upgrades. Lose a level? Congratulations! you have once again lost all your progress and upgrades. playing this game is like getting sucker-punched in the tender bits REPEATEDLY!! in fact getting kicked in the groin might actually be more enjoyable. I played the same section for a couple hours, finally managed to make it to the boss fight twice only to get absolutely curb-stomped by a boss that is WAY TO OVER POWERED. I strongly dislike that I PAID MONEY for this dumpster fire of a game. go back and make a save feature for those of us who like to enjoy the games we play, and make a hardcore mode for those that like to be miserable. now for the positive... the UI is nice, and the story (the VERY VERY little i have seen thus …

Fun game, not for everyone and often quite unforgiving but something fresh and new. It's a combination of a Roguelike and a creature game, which is unusual in itself, but rather than command them, they act based on pre decided abilities and behaviours and where you place them, though you are shown a lot of what might happen on a turn. There is some trial and error as you learn the creatures abilities, but it's very satisfying when it all comes together. And the guide iIve just made tells you what all the creatures do so there is that. It's not for everyone, but if the concept sounds neat, give it a try and if you aren't happy after an hour or two, well that's what refunds are for

Rogue Summoner is a turn-based roguelike strategy game developed and published by Gamecraft Studios that takes a creative approach to dungeon crawling by shifting the focus away from the player character and onto the monsters they command. Instead of directly attacking enemies or controlling a party of heroes, players take on the role of a summoner who relies entirely on conjured creatures to fight on their behalf. This unusual twist transforms the traditional roguelike combat system into something closer to a tactical puzzle, where predicting movement patterns and carefully planning placements becomes the primary method of overcoming challenges. The game blends elements of roguelike exploration, tactical board-game mechanics, and monster collection into a compact but thoughtful strategic experience. The basic structure of Rogue Summoner revolves around exploring a dungeon composed of interconnected rooms filled with enemies, traps, and occasional rewards. Each room acts as a small battlefield where the summoner must decide which creatures to deploy and where to place them in order to defeat the opposition. What makes the combat system particularly distinctive is that summoned cre…

Tutorial is very tedious. Sucks all the fun out of what this game could have been.

An interesting idea that feels tactical and mechanically engaging.. maybe half the time. Look at the enemy monsters, figure out their moves, calculate the damage you'll take and deal and choose and place your summons to give you an edge. It's a fun puzzle when it works, but it just doesn't work far too often. Frequently I found myself calculating out a fight, and coming to the conclusion that it was just a lost cause. I would have to unsatisfyingly sacrifice multiple monsters or use the special "bomb" abilities to clear enemies just to make the fight more even. The AI advantage is the first turn, your advantage is knowledge of their moves - but 90% of secret abilities in this game overwhelmingly benefit the creatures who move first. There's an interesting idea in here, but the current execution of that idea isn't where it needs to be
