Players praise this game as an inventive and well-executed blend of classic Game Boy-era Zelda games with Bloodborne's aesthetic and combat mechanics, featuring solid world design and worthwhile exploration. Common complaints center on the game feeling repetitive or boring despite its concept, with some finding the story underdeveloped and the experience ultimately lacking sufficient depth or engagement.
Fun game. Zelda like.1 found this helpful
(Slight spoilers) This is a really solid game that manages to accomplish and sometimes overdeliver on what it sets out to do. The game takes large inspiration from the Gameboy Color, and as such mostly plays as a time accurate GBC game would. There is some clunkiness to how the Hunter controls, but that slight level of player friction adds to the game in a overall positive manner rather than causing any headaches, at least in my experience. The game is very well designed and manages to accurately communicate and show off information to the player without it ever feeling too forced, which is something plenty of modern AAA games struggle with accomplishing. My favorite example of this takes place in the Miregloom section, with the major mechanic in that area being controllable water levels that you can raise or drain, which in turn will change where the Hunter can travel. The game never overtly points it out, but a sharp eyed player will notice vents on the walls that will change appearance depending on the current height level of water. This cleverly shows players which screens will be affected by the changing tides without an immersion breaking text box or cheaply placed in game…1 found this helpful
After a good 8 hours of playing the game, I'm afraid I can't exactly recommend the game. The level up system pretty much becomes entirely ridiculous, as it doesn't properly scale at all with lower levels. If you spent most of your points in attack, and try your hand in leveling up the other stats, it'll cost an arm and a leg to get it done, and at that point, it just isn't worth it. Secondly, there's no real point in the boss battles, as they do not actively give you any upgrades to defeating them. You get Tears (the game's currency) but other than that...it's not rewarding. Plus, the reusing of enemies with stronger health and attack pretty much gets...really old after a while. Because of the big issue with the level up system, the enemies being repeated and the big bosses being pointless, it brings down the quality of the game dramatically.
A hoonter must hoont A blood must be borne A tear must scape Great game and awesome for to co-op, its reminding me of four swords days. If you could add more colours to the main character that would be awesome! Thank you for making it co-op!
I find it very difficult to recommend this game. The premise is Bloodborne X Link's Awakening, which sounds amazing on paper, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The lore very obviously attempts to rip Bloodborne off, but fails miserably. It frequently uses terms like "the hunt", "plague", "beasts", but it's all empty and meaningless. But that is the least of its problems. There is almost no reason to fight any of the bosses, other than getting a lot of tears. But you can farm those from regular enemies. You don't get any items, or open any new paths . It's not even required to beat the game. Speaking of beating the game: The isn't even an ending! Unless there's some bull**** hidden ending that is never even hinted at, meaning that even the final boss battle is pointless. Also, that final boss is full of bull****. It's not the kind of "difficult but fair" boss that defines great games. It's just poorly designed and very unfair. Enemy variety is the opposite of that. I know most games recycle early enemies into more powerful version to serve as cannon fodder in later levels, but at least they get a palette swap and one or two new attacks. Not here. The exact same enemy you…
Like Mina, but even more dull and boring
