About The Unfinished Swan

✦ AI summary

You chase a swan through a surreal white void, splashing paint to reveal hidden worlds and solve environmental puzzles in this artistic adventure. Each chapter introduces wildly different gameplay mechanics and creatures as you uncover the secrets of a peculiar painted kingdom and its eccentric ruler.

From the creators of What Remains of Edith Finch.

Explore a mysterious all-white landscape by splatting paint to reveal the world around you in The Unfinished Swan. As Monroe, a 10-year-old orphan, you'll follow a swan that's stepped out of an unfinished painting and wandered off into a surreal, storybook-inspired kingdom. Each chapter brings surprises, new ways to explore the world, a host of bizarre (and sometimes dangerous) creatures, and encounters with the eccentric king who built this empire.
What You Leave Behind
Another banger of a story by Annapurna Interactive. Honestly, this is your typical walking sim with a little fun interactive spots of throwing paint droplets to fill in a blank space, or helping vines move across the world with water droplets. It's a cute and short game that you can complete in about an hour, or within about 3, if you look for the balloons. Overall, the game is not bad, and very simple. I would only recommend if you like short stories about love and loss, and like walking sims.

Charming and whimsical with fun rather than difficult challenges - such as painting the landscape to see where to go next. If you liked Journey you will probably enjoy this.

A must play gaming experience, that reminds you that gaming can be art.

Absolutely HATED this game. The concept is cool but the execution was not. The camera movement mixed with the black and white was disorientating and sickening. It was also very boring, not a very compelling or interesting story line. It also felt low quality, for example the movements felt unnatural and the quality of the assets looked overly simple. I got this game on sale and I would recommend waiting for that sale because 22 dollars for this quality of a game is a crime.

Quite short and not particularly mind-blowing. It's more vibes than puzzles. I did enjoy exploring around the areas though, it has a very defined sense of style. The storybook and narration feel appealed to children, so I think a younger audience would probably get more mileage out of this. It was basically only advertised at E3 and only for the PS3 (this is a much later PC port) so how many children actually played it originally is another question. It's an interesting game but I would only get it on sale.

I wish the maze segment was longer but i absolutely adore this game. This is a very fun and chill time
