RPG Maker strikes again! Valkyrie Nemesis is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This one is only notable for a couple of reasons... the sheer laziness of the developer exceeds almost every other RPG Maker asset flipper to ever disgrace the gaming industry, apart from just ripping off Norse mythology, badly (and this is the second of these RPG Maker crapfests I've had the displeasure of reviewing from this "developer). Too lazy to come up with your own fantasy stuff? Just rip off a religion, they're in the public domain! So you can see just what kind of trash we're dealing with here. Equally lazy, the game seems to mostly be just one map and a bunch of really badly laid out encounters. Character abilities aren't fleshed out properly, everything is a cooldown... at least most RPG Maker asset flippers spend a little…3 found this helpful
Explore the expansive and shadowy dungeon, where you will gather the souls of warriors to aid your kingdom. Enhance the character's skill system to confront the multitude of fierce monsters that lie in wait. Acquire rare equipment and develop unique characters from an extensive database containing hundreds of skills and items. Assume the role of Patricia, a Keres tasked with collecting the souls of fallen warriors. Following the directives of Hel, the queen of the underworld, she ventures into Midgard—the realm of humans—to maintain the balance of power over Asgard. Throughout her journey, Patricia encounters a myriad of peculiar tales, various demons, and bizarre monsters that have never been witnessed, even in the depths of hell. I dedicated 1.5 hours of my time to this experience, time that could have been better spent on more significant activities, such as taking a lengthy, satisfying break, which, I must say, would yield a far superior outcome than this endeavor.1 found this helpful

Valkyrie Nemesis is a side-scrolling anime action game that focuses heavily on fast combat, flashy visual effects, and straightforward arcade-style gameplay. Developed and published by KAI HSUAN CHU, the game places players in control of a powerful Valkyrie warrior battling through futuristic environments filled with mechanical enemies, monsters, and increasingly dangerous bosses. The overall experience feels heavily inspired by classic hack-and-slash action games combined with anime aesthetics, delivering a gameplay loop centered around aggressive combat and stylish attacks rather than deep storytelling or highly technical mechanics. From the beginning, the game moves quickly into action. Players progress through linear stages while fighting waves of enemies using melee attacks, aerial combos, special abilities, and dodge mechanics. Combat is designed to feel energetic and immediate, encouraging constant movement and offensive pressure instead of defensive strategy. Enemy groups frequently surround the player, forcing rapid reactions and encouraging players to chain attacks together to maintain momentum. The controls are responsive enough to keep the battles fluid, and even thoug…
The description makes it seem like it could be a good game, but alas it is not! The game is clearly made with RPG Maker MZ by someone that does not really know how to use the system. The battle system is Basic turn based system where all your attacks have cool downs, the enemy however is not limited in the same way, so you will spend turns doing nothing (not even a defend option) while the enemy is still attacking you. You find other chars along the way, but no matter how many floors you are into the game they always start on lv 1. If you are extremely lucky you can find 1 or 2 of the 3 characters with a healing ability very early (the first floor or 2) if you get them any later than that they will likely die in 1 hit and they don't heal much as it is, but at least it's something. Status effect continue after battle for both positive and negative effects and will wear off by walking around, but while positive effects like regen will not heal you while walking around. negative effects like burn and poison will damage you while walking around. I have had characters die while outside of battle because of burn. On the map you will have an option of 2 - 4 rooms to choose from, choos…
