Wanted Shadows: Unchained is a standalone reimagining of 2023's Wanted Shadows. It's rebuilt from the ground up with compact arenas, a deepened progression system, and a hub world that expands the game's world.You fight for survival in compact, high-intensity arenas where every movement counts. Unlock permanent weapons, learn what upgrades synergize with each other, and push your limits against tougher and tougher enemies.
What's New in Unchained
- Dual Weapon Combat | Equip both melee and ranged weapons, so that you can have 2 main weapons at any given time. Exploit their exclusive upgrades to come up with even more powerful combos.
- Compact Arenas | Levels are shorter and more compact. This means the game is more action-packed than ever, and every moment counts.
- Deeper Progression | With more characters, more upgrades, more powers, and more areas, there's more to do than ever. The new achievement system that adds permanent upgrades to your progression also increases the power ceiling to unprecedented levels.
- Living Hub World | Interact with characters, and learn more about the Shadows through the added hub world.

I don't leave reviews before completing a game often but I'm making an exception for Wanted Shadows Unchained considering how it doesn't have many reviews and it deserves more attention. The game can be best seen as a bite sized Vampire Survivor both in terms of content and length of each run. You can play with 10 characters, have 5 different melee/ranged weapons, 14 passive skills, 8 locations and 10 difficulty levels called ascensions. All of this content is unlocked over time by completing runs and using currency earned based on how you perform in a run, even when you lose. The 10 characters also come with unique skills or advantages, so you can create some interesting combinations and play styles. The game is great about cutting out the fat. It doesn't feel like there is bloat or quantity for quantity's sake. What you unlock does add to the game and it makes you consider all options. The game is also great about giving you options to decide how long a run can get. You have 8 locations and each location has a different time to complete instead of the default 30 minutes. The times range from 2.5 to 10 minutes you can see in the menu selection before starting a run. The game is …5 found this helpful
