About WARBORN

Rise up and deploy for battle in the Variable Armour, a technologically advanced suit of war. As the political climate between factions is thrown out of balance and the solar system is engulfed in conflict, lead your strike force of deadly mecha towards victory in turn-based tactical combat.
Choose from four commanders, each representing a different faction and bringing with them their own unique power, traits and play style. Think tactically as you move your units, clash with rival mecha, and watch the outcome in dramatic battle sequences inspired by 90s Japanese animation.
Call in reinforcements from orbit by picking from a range of mass-produced units with differing combat roles. Assemble a force to lead into battle and strike fear into the enemy with imposing second-generation Variable Armours, piloted exclusively by your commander.
Push forward and secure your supremacy on a battlefield of hexagonal area tiles. Use a variety of terrain types to take cover or undermine the enemy, and capture structures to gain additional resources or deployment sites.
Inflict status effects, plant traps, support allies. Each type of Variable Armour is armed with its own specialist equipment and unique skills, allowing you to engage the enemy with a variety of tactical options.
CAMPAIGNWARBORN takes place in the Auros System, during a time of war and political uncertainty. While inter-faction disputes erupt, see the war unfold from the eyes of four different commanders across a story-driven campaign featuring over 40 missions.
SKIRMISH & MULTIPLAYER
Configure your own match parameters and develop new tactics by competing against AI in Skirmish mode, or take the battle online to outwit rival commanders across the world in tense one-on-one matches.
MAP EDITOR
Feeling creative? Make your own custom maps using the built-in Map Editor. Take your custom maps into Skirmish mode to try against the computer, or play them online with friends.

4/10 most of what you do is move 8 guys from 1 side of the map to the other past choke points - combat is ok, wish each unit could do more. for example this unit can move extra far on this terrain or gets 2 plus def when on city. how about a unit that could toss other units across the map - cant trade attack for movement - cant level or upgrade anything - price 25$ + map editor3 found this helpful
this game is fun, but can get a little bit repeatitive. Def try if you are into mecha games.
I want to know more about the lore of the game, it seems interesting. 90s Saturday morning cartoon aesthetics, turn-based strategy. Could use some more unit variety
Hmm I don't mind it
i really enjoyed the gameplay, i think its highly strategic and has lots of depth to explore - the characters are cute and the story is decent i didnt enjoy the constant clicking i had to do for everything so, focusing on a unit, moving, defocusing a unit etc..so much clicking, if that would be changed into a more user friendly way i think this is an absolute rare diamond and i like that its inspired by advance wars without copying on it too much and putting its own spin on it
I bought this game on a whim during a sale, not really knowing what to expect. As you can see, I have over 50 hours in it now; I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is, and it deserves a lot more recognition. Warborn is a turn-based, hex-based strategy game, very similar in gameplay to something like Panzer General or Warhammer Armageddon. The game has a forty mission campaign with ten missions per faction, and an overarching story that ties them all together. Online multiplayer is mostly dead, but there is an offline skirmish mode against the AI that has thirty pre-made maps plus a map editor, so there is plenty of content. With the basics out of the way, here is a rundown on the features that make this game a good choice for turn-based strategy enthusiasts: - No RNG. This is huge for players who hate bad RNG in strategy games. When your units attack they are guaranteed to hit and do a consistent amount of damage every single time, and so are the enemy units. That means your success or failure is entirely up to your strategy: which units you choose to deploy, how you position them, and the order in which you take out the enemy units. - Combat outcome preview.…
