About What the Fog

✦ AI summary

Team up with a friend in this 2-player co-op roguelite where you battle endless monster swarms, repair generators, and fight bosses to escape a cursed board game pulled straight from Dead by Daylight. Build complementary character loadouts and master easy-to-learn combat across eight difficulty levels as you navigate randomized levels and unlock your way to freedom.

What the Fog answers the age-old question: What would happen if you and a friend were swallowed by a cursed board game? You’d get a 2-person co-op roguelite filled with magic powers, non-stop action, and lots and lots of monsters – that’s what. Learn to use your new abilities and work together as you run, jump, and shoot your way through swarms of enemies, collecting Bloodpoints, repairing Generators, and unlocking exit doors in this chaotic game from the world of Dead by Daylight.

FOG BUDDIES
Teamwork is the name of the game. Or it would be if it weren’t already What the Fog. Point is monster killing is always better together. Choose between Dead by Daylight’s Dwight, Claudette, or Feng Min and strategize your upgrades to build loadouts that complement each other. Then stay in the action even after you die, helping your partner tough it out until they can revive you.

MONSTER MASH
Everything you see is out to kill you. The least you can do is return the favor. Destroy swarms of enemies and take down bosses to earn Bloodpoints. Platform across dangerous terrain to find and repair Generators. Activate their runes to upgrade your character. Survive and get the Fog out!

DON’T BE AFRAID
We get it, roguelites can be intense! Luckily What the Fog’s combat and upgrades are easy to grasp, and its 8 different difficulty settings let you find the perfect challenge no matter your skill level. Focus on the fun of quick, exciting runs across increasingly wild, randomly generated levels.

to be brutally honest, the only thing that makes this game worth playing is that most people got it for free (i didnt). i was very excited when i found out about a dbd roguelite and enjoyed my first game, but then i realized i already experienced all the content there was to offer. there is no real progression in this game and it feels very clunky and unoptimized. the enemies are also very random as it wouldve been much cooler if they somehow related to the entity. this game couldve worked as a survivor game but they chose to be weird about it. in the end its only 5 bucks so do what you want

Actual shovelware. Extremely boring and unengaging with higher difficulty being just numbers going up. The perks you get in a run can also be borderline useless more often then not.

It's not bad, it's a good shovelware game, but it's ultimately just a worse Risk of Rain 2 clone. I sooner wish BHVR stuck with Project T for a real PvE co-op experience.

I actually loved this game for the first few rounds, but then had an almost-immediate switch-up. It is the same levels and enemies over and over again, which does not help the fact that one whole level is about an hour long. They only added three characters to this game and not all of them are even worth running. Claudette is basically useless in single-player, which single-player is already hard as it is, for the long levels and constant repetition, having no other players to assist you. I found myself fighting bosses for five or ten minutes at a time, hardly earning any Bloodpoints on a character like Claudette. I saw so much potential in this game in those first few minutes, because the combat in this game can be pretty fun, so it is disappointing that they have already given up on updating this game. Just play Hooked on You, at least Claudette is actually hot in that game.

even for a 1.50$ AUD calling this a game is an insult to the gaming community. It grabs the general notion of a roguelike and spits on it. The entire game is jump around with your cross hair on enemies and kill them all with ease, regardless of difficulty, on enemies of the exact same type, powering up generators to then fight a boss thats the exact same as the generic enemies. Behavior themselves clearly knew this was a flop considering it hasn't been updated since release. This feels like a proof of concept game or one of those 3000$ scam games on steam that are an empty pit where you shoot enemies to no goal. Where's the story? you have meg dwight and feng. why are they there? what are these creatures? whats the point of any of this crap? Even the upgrades aren't fun. you don't have a build you can really make. spam E and you'll be fine because damage is a joke. even the "poison" and "regeneration" enemies are jokes. The whole bloodpoint mechanic also just feels tedious. It wasn't until I beat hard difficulty and I got the health for bloodpoints upgrade where bloodpoint drops are doubled that it didnt feel annoying. But its at a significant downside of losing half your health.…
