9/10 the the story is heart touching. the gameplay is engaging the jrpg part is decent the bad: nothing really that bad. maybe little grinding. but not that bad.1 found this helpful
This is my first Adol focused Ys game (I started w/ Orgins, haven't beat it yet though lol) and I was very happy it was recommended as a start. Has good exploration and really scratches an Action RPG itch I've had for awhile. Game has a wonderful soundtrack as well! I tried to do as much as I could and even after finishing there was still stuff on the table plus the NG+ content! The story beats felt familiar (I was thinking of XB1 near the end lol) while also staying interesting and the only time the game felt like it was dragging was CH.2. Ys 8 isn't very long at all which I love as not all good RPGs need to be 70+ hours long. I also appreciated that while the game is mostly self contained, the few references to Adol's other adventures only left me intrigued! Overall, this was another Falcom banger and I will be playing more :D
Let me tell you something on PC, the fishing minigame is basically an IRL workout for ur right hand using a mouse. The master fish took me 30 tries to catch just one, and my hand needed a day off afterward. 10/10 hand exercise. Great game, by the way 😂.
Good game just don't play on nightmare until new game plus.
Worth buying indeed for an Ys game!
