The dialogue is absolutely carried and compensated by the voice acting albeit over the top sometimes. The collectible logs are so lifeless and generic and are a snooze fest. Conveniently the ones important to the progress have less entries. The lore getting deeper and situation more dire trope has a half-assed execution failing to properly establish the character emotions and setting prior. The twist has 0 impact and 0 justification from any of the characters` perspectives despite a pretty large 5 chapter progress. Graphics and Design: It seems all the budget and development went on the [strike] wannabe [/strike] AAA cutscenes with awful facial expressions. I went into this game completely blind, with no knowledge of its prequels or the lore surrounding it. From the outset, the game feels polished and ambitious, featuring visually striking cutscenes and a strong presentation. However, as the experience unfolds, its shortcomings become increasingly apparent. It is clearly the product of a small studio that could have benefited from more time and resources to fully realize its vision. The level design has some nice touches, and the Lovecraftian themes are utilized effectively, but that largely sums up the positives. On the other hand, the puzzles offer virtually no challenge, character navigation is often frustrating, and many of the dialogue sequences disrupt the atmosphere rather than enhance it. The final act is particularly disappointing, relying too heavily on convenient plot developments and coincidences, which undermines the much more engaging opening chapters. 5.5/10

It was a fun game to play.

Overall pretty good. - The idea of 3 separate concurrent playable characters that can share items is ingenious. - The art direction is excellent - great setting/world building. The writing is really good for the background notes/pdas that you can find - Puzzles are quite good, well-layered enough yet doesn't cross into masochism, with only some which don't fully make sense, but maybe that just me. - The voice-acting and writings for the main characters are... misguided . The writing is so-so, combined with the extremely dispassionate deliveries (also many times crosses into quirk-chungus, above-it-all territory) makes it really difficult to empathize with the characters. They are mainly good when they serve world-building, but later on in the game they're just absolute waste of breath talking about non-existent feelings and pointing out the obvious next thing one should do, and so at this point i generously skip them. - The "cutscenes" are ....quite bad, but it's not a main focus in anyway.
