✦ AI summary

GRIME is a stylish action game with striking art, excellent boss fights, and satisfying combat mechanics that most players appreciate, but it suffers from clunky controls (particularly the unconventional right-stick pull and float system), floaty combat feels, and poor platforming that frustrate many. The story remains cryptic throughout most of the game, and opinions are sharply divided on whether the overall package is worth experiencing, with some finding it a flawed but memorable adventure while others consider the control issues and combat polish problems fundamental deal-breakers.

It was a blast until the end! The boss fights are amazing, absorbing enemies is so satisfying, and a DEX build rules. My only issue? I DID NOT understand the story at all lol. Still a great game, and it runs flawlessly on my office laptop. I will never forget the music and the sound effects. All bangers and so crispy. You feel the weight of each hit and the music just give you goosebumps. Overall, it's an 8/10 game. Hope you all try it!

3/10 What a mess the art style is amazing. The idea of making the parry system fill the healing bar is so good....... Too bad it is ruined by the constatnt ringing noise it gives you as it heals you, and this is supposed to be the healing sound ? the combat is floaty, boaring and unpolished. Most weapons do a combo of 2 moves. The music is like gravity, you know it is there but someone needs to point it out. The platforming is a joke. the enemies do not have ai , it has Ri, and extra chromosomes. Also the enemies basically get stun locked by you, so you what on them and they do not move untill they die. What a fantastic whaste of money.

The art is very cool, and some pretty decent music. Only really good point of the entire experience I've had with it. Clunky boring movement and clunky boring combat. Atrocious control scheme that you're forced to deal with because they set RIGHT STICK to control your "pull" technique AND float. Hey, devs? JUST MAKE IT SO WHEN YOU HOLD DOWN THE JUMP BUTTON, YOU FLOAT. LIKE GAMES HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE THE NES DAYS. What were you thinking???? You could've saved a button and made interact happen by just pressing up/down, which, again, an innovation from FORTY YEARS ago in NES games. Then you could've had an extra button to use for your pull button, and aim with the LEFT STICK (or dpad), you know, the ONE YOU'RE ACTUALLY USING IN A 2D GAME. This basically ruins all the platforming and makes it terrible. Not only that, bounce orbs sometimes just don't work, other glitchy stuff with platforming. Falling too far will kill you in some areas even with the float power, which inconsistently (and sometimes cannot) protect you from fall damage. And all the platforming challenges where you warp to a pull point near thorns, will often automatically hit you if you dash too quickly out of it, ruin…

I think the only bad thing of this game is that the traversing system is quite bad, other than that it's a pretty flawless game. Good combat, good exploration, good biome diversity, good bosses, good secrets, intriguing story.

Really amazing game. I absolutely love the visuals of the game and the boss design, the combat also feels very polished, with different weapons, enjoyable abilities for combat, and while the parry system is significantly slower than in games like sekiro or nine sols, it's very enjoyable and really sets its place as a souls-like where every action must be considered while fighting bosses. Regarding exploration, it has a lot of secrets and optional bosses that made me enjoy backtracking with new abilities to uncover every inch of the map. Finally, I would like to point out that I really enjoyed the story of the game, with characters that make you really curious about what's happening, and while it didn't make sense troughout most of my playthrough, is explained a little bluntly near the end leaving you with a lot of bittersweet feelings
