FINAL FANTASY VIII - REMASTERED

The people that say FF8 is a bad game are weak and won't survive the winter. "The characters and story are bad!" Did you read? Like genuinely? Can you read? How are you reading this right now, is the Windows AI reading it off screen for you little persona fan? "Junction as a system sucks!" No, the tutorial sucks. There are plenty of online resources you can find that properly explain it and it isn't hard to figure out even without them. Massive skill issue. TLDR: FF8 is the perfect litmus test to use in JRPG spaces to see if the person you're talking to is a moron or not. What's the matter white boy, scared of a good JRPG? Gonna go cry back to Daddy Atlus as they squeeze more Persona 5 curdled slop directly into your mouth? Gonna watch another youtuber play a game and then LARP on twitter? Back in my day we would have hung you from the rafters in 7th grade for being such a little pansy.

It's one of the best Final Fantasy games in my opinion, if you played this game as a kid and want to relive the experience then definitely buy it.

Often considered the black sheep of the series. FF8 has a very interesting system for character customization. Playing the game normally like on the PS1 era, is a *very* slow experience, dare I say, too slow for modern comfort. I consider myself decently patient, but even so I still found the speed of the game too slow. However, the Remaster has an incredible useful x3 speed function that you can toggle with one click, and it does not mess up with the music of the game. With this function, the game feels very serviceable. The Music is incredible, the story, although non-sensical, is a very fun spectacle to witness. The characters are very fun and its fun to see the journey they go through. I think its worth trying out by anyone that has ever been curious about the game. Its a bit weird to get used to the magic and junction system, but there is a lot of enjoyment you can get from learning how to exploit it to your advantage (or just read a guide). Its a very easy game to break, and dare I say, its a fun game to break.

I've played through most of the final fantasy's and in my opinion this one is the worst. - The story is meh. I do understand the story, and did read up a bit after i beat it. It's not bad, but the next 2 items ruin it for me. - The main character is an edgy teenager who is put in command for no reason. His answer to most things is thinking, "god what do they want from me" then saying, "whatever" - The rival is even more dumb. - The enemies level with you so leveling up i considered a bad idea. - Numerous items, guardians, etc. are tied behind the card game forcing you to play it. - They invented an entire new combat system that expects you to change your skills around for every boss fight. I mean this literally as you'll have to move all your skills to defense against element X so that it heals you so you can beat them to death, then next boss its Y. - - Now, if you really enjoy learning an intricate system and constantly changing it around. You can absolutely break it. You can farm spells that let you delevel enemies. This is how you weaken them and prevent yourself from leveling up. - - I personally hated this setup - - You are constantly moving these skills between characters, …
