Death's Gambit: Afterlife

Really good game with a nice mix of soulslike and metroidvania gameplay. Compared to other soulslike games instead of losing your xp/currency you lose your healing item upon death and have to reclaim it where you died. Fun world to travel and explore and with some creative and challenging bossing. You can also have a rematch with any boss at a higher difficulty and more moves compared to the original fight. Overall combat felt challenging but fair in terms of enemy placement and the damage they inflict. A lot of soulslikes just make things hard by throwing nonstop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your way but this one didn't do that. There's a lot of humor in the side content away from the main story which is played out dead serious it's an interesting contrast.

I played this because I wanted a Metroidvania and was pretty dissapointed. It's like a worse Blasphemous.

great game. i already loved the OG version. but the afterlife remake made it way better. and the story is damn great too. the only reason i will not do this game in 100%, is because i'm simple not good enough of a player. also i bought the OST's and i listen to them often. i highly recommend this one

Great game, controls were goofy for gamepad and keyboard, but they were pretty easy to change.

Solid Pixel Art, deep lore in the first couple of hours. And... Matthew Mercer voices DEATH. No notes. Shut up and take my money!
