Good game. Binged the the heck out of it and got a hearty 17 hours out of it, which isn't too shabby. The presentation of the game is fairly simple. The menu/controls are nothing to write home about. The sprites are simple yet charming in their own way. All in all, an excellent example of good gameplay triumphing over graphics. Ran fine on the Steamdeck. Helped scratch that Balatro itch. The gist of the game is, each symbol/icon on the slot machine gives you at least one gold coin, most of the time, after a spin. Different icons/symbols interact with each other to give you more gold by incrementing or doubling values. It's your job to collect enough gold coins after X spins to pay your rent, which increases each time. You start out with a third of the slot machine filled out and after spinning you're given the opportunity to add one of a few random symbols to the slot machine. The strategy is choosing symbols that synergize with each other. You also get items (artifacts) that augments slots. RNG is obviously a factor so you can't guarantee a build will work out but if you take advantage of the preselected symbols and try planning for a couple different builds you can typical…

It's a fun game that can soak up a lot of hours. It feels well balanced and has some combinations that just go stupid good.

I wish I could give a middle review. This game is very fun when you get good combos to pop off and make LOTS of money and see everything work together. However, it is very hard to make that work, I only get like 1/4 runs past rent payment 4. Could be skill issue, but also I wish it wasn't so RNG based.

perfect roguelike game. simple game concept, great combination of luck vs skill, satisfying combos. played a ton on my phone but had to get the steam version as well
