You gotta download Arx Libertalis to get this working well, even if you plan on running this on a CRT @ 4:3. Despite that, this game is just like all the other late 90's early 2000's games in that: It has amazing story, incredible atmosphere, full voice acting (decent and somewhat rare for the time), great attention to detail... but kind of boring game play. You walk slow as ♥♥♥♥, and the only way to get faster is to get a speed spell. This means it takes a long time to get places and do things, even with the teleport system. The combat as well is good enough I guess. The spell casting quirk is VERY cool and awesome but only being able to stack 3 is not ideal. When you're in a fight, casting spells while trying not to die kinda sucks. The melee combat is fine too. It's basically like Morrowind or Thief 2's melee combat, which is to say it's kinda jank. I say you gotta play this though. One of the classic unc games.
