This charming detective adventure features stunning 19th-century caricature art, Saint-Saëns orchestral score, and branching cases with multiple endings where your choices truly matter.

The year is 1848. Paris is on the brink of yet another revolution, and the prisons are overflowing with guilty and innocent alike.

One man stands for justice amid society's chaos. No. One bird...

Play the role of Monsieur Jayjay Falcon, a bird of prey with a good heart and questionable lawyering expertise. Join him and his witty apprentice, Sparrowson, as the two take on clients, interview witnesses, collect evidence, and deliver justice to the guilty.

With art by 19th century caricaturist J. J. Grandville, and music by legendary romantic-era composer Camille Saint-Saëns, this game promises to be a ~swanderful~ experience.

  • Dozens of colorful characters to meet, interview, and bribe.
  • Did I say bribe? I meant persuade.
  • Real-life landmarks. Knock on the doors of Notre-Dame! Loot the Louvre!

Aviary Attorney is a game very similar to the Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney series: a mix of investigation and trial proceedings. Even the title calls back to it. Some might call it a clone, but I think it's different enough and too high quality for that. Aviary was closer to visual novel than adventure. It used public domain drawings from an 18th century artist called Grandville and classical music from composer Saint-Saens. I think they both fit in very well. The realistic characters with animal heads combined with lack of color gave it an appropriate look for the period in addition to making it unique. The only small problem was that characters were stuck in neutral expressions with only their eyes and mouths moving, which was something very different from the hyper expressions of the Ace Attorney series. The music was also very good and appropriate; my only complaint being that it was sometimes too loud. The game was only in English but taking place in France and the integration of French words was very well done, which is usually not the case when the developer is American or British. I would know since French is my native language. The story was very well written, even includ…

Since the artwork and music is all(?) public domain stuff I can't really praise it, it does look and sound nice but the sprites are obviously quite limited. It was a little overwhelming but I liked that you had a bit more freedom in the order of how you do things, it is kinda easy to screw yourself over but the game does let you go back and try again from any day. The three endings are pretty different from eachother and I thought they were all not perfect but quite good and I was happy to have gone for them all. The mysteries aren't really anything special but the game has enough interesting characters and funny writing that I didn't mind much. Overall, pretty good.

Aviary Attorney on the surface could seem like Ace Attorney but birds, but no, it takes place in 1840's France at the precipice of yet another revolution, the game has witty dialouge that makes playing with friends and doing funny voices for the characters a hoot and a lark, it's also very emotionally steaking especially towards the end, i high reccomend this game for anyone a fan of Ace Attorney or want to try something new

Great detective VN that I finally beat after more than 10 years after I bought it. Large amount of puns and light hearted humor, interesting plot in uderused setting of revolutionary France of XVIII century and amazing classical music soundtrack! First playthrough took me around 5,5 hours of not very hasty reading. If you aiming at full completion, it would take somewhere around 7 - 8 hours, considering that game have 3 routes / endings. Wholeheartedly recommend this VN!
