Blaster Master Zero 2

Having played the first one, I never thought it could get a sequel. Let alone one that goes this balls to the walls crazy with its premise and story. Gameplay is still the usual tank and on foot shooting that we come to know and love but with some new additions and enhancements. The newest addition is the planetary travel, taking us to mini challenges and to big and interesting planets to explore to find upgrades and such. And a story that goes above and beyond what anyone is expecting. Oh and a flowerpot head animegirl? Yeah game is weird too.

Just about improves on everything from the first game. Tank traversal is really fun with more options for movement and attacks. Top-down dungeon sections have more interesting designs and improved combat (Although the highest gun level still makes everything else useless). The story is really good this time, space adventures are always fun and I liked seeing the new Metal Attacker pilots (Hi Kanna) on their different home worlds. Music and aesthetics are still really good here. I actually don't have any major complaints with this one. This is probably my favorite game out of the three Blaster Master Zero games. So many fun ideas and level gimmicks. Very charming

Inti devs are cruel human trash that just want you to suffer.

A great game to bring back that retro gaming feel that reminds you of renting a NES game from your local video store and returning it late cause you want to beat it first. The game doesn't introduce anything revolutionary. Just fun, challenging but fair gameplay with a basic story that keeps the game moving along. It's perfect for getting a 15-30 minute session on the Steam Deck before bed.

Not as good as the first one, but if you liked that one you'll like this, too. Kind of a shame about the crossover characters, though. That final area is absolute trash though and I will stand by that.
